A spacious dining room and a playroom for children

The first impression when I walked in was, “Clean and spacious.” Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang has a large, pleasant dining room, with generous space between tables, so we could enjoy our meal privately and comfortably.

Parents can keep an eye on their children playing while they eat, so they can relax and enjoy their meal-! It is the best of both worlds: kids have a blast while the adults can fully savor the meat! I highly recommend it for families!

The window seats in particular made the meal even more special, with an open city view of Daepyeong-dong and leafy street trees! Just imagine watching the view outside while the meat sizzles—doesn't that sound healing?

There is a self bar on one side of the restaurant, where you can help yourself to fresh ssam vegetables (wrap greens) and side dishes without feeling self-conscious. They have thoughtfully provided high chairs too, so families with babies and toddlers can dine comfortably!

One of the biggest highlights here is the large indoor playroom! Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang's playroom was not just there for appearances—it was a kids' café-level space with a range of play facilities.

There were safe, cushioned mats as a given, plus plenty for children to run around on, including a jungle gym and slide. They even had retro arcade machines and claw machines, so there was no time to get bored.

The whole-pig set and towering steamed egg

True to the name Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang, this place offers the fresh, high-quality meat that butcher restaurants are known for at reasonable prices! On this visit, we ordered the whole-pig set. As soon as the meat arrived, I couldn't help exclaiming over its beautiful marbling and bright fresh-pink color.

The samgyeopsal (pork belly) was savory and full of juices—the kind of flavor that makes you happier with every bite.

Best of all, the towering steamed egg—our kids' absolute favorite—was visually overwhelming from the start! The yellow, fluffy steamed egg rising above its ttukbaegi (earthenware pot) whetted the appetite just by looking at it, and its soft, savory richness filled the mouth and paired fantastically with the meat-!

And then there is Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang's special service: unlimited doenjang-jjigae (soybean-paste stew). A pot of hearty, gently spicy stew keeps simmering in the center of the grill, and you can keep refilling it at the self bar! When the meat starts to feel a little rich, one spoonful of hot doenjang-jjigae lets you start on the meat all over again!

Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang in Daepyeong-dong, Sejong had it all: quality meat, reasonable prices, a spacious and pleasant setting, and a perfect large playroom for children-! Come with family, friends, a partner, or coworkers and make happy memories over delicious meat. I am 100% willing to return next time!
