Suwon Chinese restaurant Peking duck set with beer: Mirim Yangjang

While looking for a good restaurant at Time Villas Suwon, I wanted a meal with a slightly special atmosphere, so I visited Mirim Yangjang Time Villas Suwon Branch (미림양장 타임빌라스 수원점).

A Chinese restaurant on the third floor of Time Villas Suwon

Usually, I go to Chinese restaurants for something simple like jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) or jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), but I was meeting a friend that day and wanted to make a proper occasion of it for once, so we chose Mirim Yangjang Time Villas Suwon Branch. It is on the third floor of Time Villas Suwon, making it easy to drop by while shopping, and it is also close to Suwon Station, so it worked nicely as a meeting spot.

The moment I stepped inside, it clearly felt different from an ordinary Chinese restaurant. The upscale atmosphere made me think it would be lovely for a date, anniversary, or a gathering to hand out wedding invitations—any day when you want a meal that feels a little more special than usual. The tables were generously spaced, so we could eat comfortably, and I also liked how neat and polished everything looked.

What comes in the Peking duck set and how much it costs

The menu we ordered that day was the Peking duck set! The Peking duck set (₩59,000) includes Peking duck, two meal dishes, and drinks, so it was great for enjoying several dishes at once when visiting as a group. Since Peking duck is Mirim Yangjang's signature menu, we chose it without hesitation. Being able to have Peking duck for under ₩30,000 per person as a pair was such a huge plus!!!

Eating Peking duck without drinking is basically a crime, right? We immediately ordered beer and gulped it down with this fancy Peking duck snack.

It arrived cut into easy-to-eat pieces, and we piled duck, shredded scallions, cucumber, and more onto thin pancakes, then wrapped everything up with sauce. The crisp roasted duck skin and moist meat wrapped in the pancakes had a charm quite different from the duck dishes I usually eat. Mirim Yangjang is officially approved as a great Peking duck spot.

More than anything, it really felt like we had come out specifically to eat Peking duck, making it a perfect menu choice when you want a special meal. With several ingredients wrapped together, every bite had a different texture, and it was wonderful to enjoy slowly while chatting with friends.

And of course, we could not skip the meal dishes I was looking forward to just as much as the Peking duck. We chose jjamppong and fried rice. First, the jjamppong had a satisfyingly spicy broth that made the beer we had with the Peking duck feel instantly cured... I could already imagine craving it the day after drinking. The seafood and vegetables came together beautifully in the broth, and it reminded me that you really must have a bowl of jjamppong whenever you visit a Chinese restaurant.

The fried rice was also nicely fluffy and easy to enjoy. Since the Peking duck was the main event, I did not expect too much from the meal dishes, but having the jjamppong and fried rice as well made it a very filling meal.

A Peking duck meal for a special day

Overall, Mirim Yangjang, a good restaurant at Time Villas near Suwon Station, felt less like a simple Chinese restaurant where you only eat and more like an upscale Chinese restaurant where you can enjoy the atmosphere on a special day, too. If you are planning a date or anniversary meal at Time Villas Suwon, I think choosing Peking duck instead of the usual dishes would be a nice idea. Especially if you are visiting with several people, do try the set with Peking duck and meal dishes together~ It will be an excellent choice that delivers both value and flavor!
