Bakery café by Sinnonhyeon Station: two bean blends, Selecto Coffee

Today I want to introduce Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon Branch, where I enjoyed both coffee and a light meal near Sinnonhyeon Station 😊 I was looking for a café around Sinnonhyeon Station and ended up here! They have a wide variety of coffees plus bakery items and sandwiches, so it was great for a light meal too haha. Plus it's open 24 hours, so you're not really restricted by time when visiting! Here's the exterior of Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon Branch, which I visited as a bakery café near Sinnonhyeon Station! It's set slightly off Gangnam-daero, so it was easy to drop by while passing through the area haha. Being open 24 hours, it felt like a good spot for coffee or a quick break both during the day and late at night! Being able to use the café regardless of time was definitely a plus 👍

Inside seating: is Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon good for solo coffee or laptop work?

Stepping inside Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon Branch, it had a casual, comfortable overall vibe! There were seats good for sitting alone with a coffee or using a laptop, so it seemed fine for solo café visits or working haha. Other visitor reviews also mentioned it being good for solo visits or laptop work, and described it as clean and comfortable! Since it runs as an unmanned store late at night, it also seemed like a good place to spend quiet time 😊

The menu: choose-your-bean coffee plus bakery and deli items

I looked over the menu! Selecto Coffee had a range of coffee options from Americano to lattes, café mocha, and espresso, and you could choose coffee by bean type, like Mocha Blend or Geisha, which was great for picking based on your taste! Selecto Coffee's official menu offers several kinds of beans too, including Geisha along with bold, nutty, bright, and decaf beans, so you can choose based on preference haha.

On top of coffee, they also sell bakery items like croissants and bagels, desserts, and deli items like sandwiches, so it was good for a simple meal too! That day, after some thought, I ordered the Mocha Blend, Geisha Blend, and a chicken breast sandwich~! I thought it'd be fun to compare two types of coffee, and since I was hungry, I added the sandwich too haha.

After a short wait, my order came out! I laid out the Mocha Blend, Geisha Blend, and the chicken breast sandwich together for a full shot first! With two coffees and a sandwich together, it felt like a simple brunch at a café haha. The sandwich in particular was more substantial than I expected, so it felt like I came for just coffee but ended up with a filling meal too!

How did the Mocha Blend taste?

I started with the Mocha Blend! Even just looking at it in the cup, it had a clean, bold feel.

Taking a sip, I got a mild chocolatey nuttiness and a smooth flavor, easy to drink without any burden haha. There was just the right amount of coffee's characteristic bitterness, and the lingering aftertaste was nice, pairing well with the sandwich. Since it's the style of coffee I like, I ended up drinking through the cup pretty fast 😋

Mocha Blend vs Geisha Blend: what's the difference?

Next up was the Geisha Blend! It had a totally different mood from the Mocha Blend. Even the aroma felt fresher and cleaner, and taking a sip, it went down smoothly with a subtle fragrance and a fresh flavor that made it fun to drink haha. Even though it was ordered from the same café, the feel changed completely depending on the bean, so it was fun switching between the two! Personally, ordering both the Mocha Blend and Geisha Blend to compare was a pretty good call 👍

Does the chicken breast sandwich work as a full meal?

And then the chicken breast sandwich! The filling was packed in generously, so it looked hearty even before taking a bite haha. Between the bread was chicken breast along with a variety of other ingredients, so it seemed plenty for a full meal!

Taking a bite, the light chicken breast, bread, and fillings came together and it was tastier than expected! It had that characteristic leanness of a chicken breast dish without feeling dry, and it went well with the coffee~ It's especially good for a quick meal when you're hungry, so this would also be great for lunch or a light meal near Sinnonhyeon Station haha.
