It had been a while since I'd made plans with a friend, and while wondering where to go for a clean, satisfying beer, I ended up at Weizenhaus Bangbae Branch 1, a bar near Sadang Station.

I've always loved craft beer, so I'd been curious about this place after hearing about it. Visiting in person, I found an open atmosphere, a lovely interior, and a great food lineup all in one — I had a really satisfying time.
Where is Weizenhaus Bangbae Branch 1, and what are its hours?
The address is 22 Dongjak-daero, Sammi Building, Seocho-gu, Seoul. Hours are Mon–Thu 16:00–01:00, Fri–Sat 16:00–02:00, and Sunday 16:00–24:00.

Even the stairs leading down to the entrance had a vintage, moody feel. Looking at the hours — weekdays from 4pm to 1am, Friday and Saturday from 4pm to 2am, and holidays from 4pm to midnight — this place seemed perfect not just for a first round but for a second or third stop too, haha.

Just a heads-up — outside food and drinks aren't allowed.

Inside the duplex room and the copper-pipe beer taps
The moment I stepped inside, the impressive two-story duplex structure and the stylish mix of steel and brick caught my eye. The high ceilings meant there was no cramped feeling at all, and the soft lighting added a warm, cozy atmosphere.

The impressive, unique copper-pipe-shaped craft beer taps at the counter raised my expectations for the beer just by looking at them. Among bars near Sadang Station, this place has both interior charm and that distinctly exotic pub appeal — it'd make a great date spot too, haha.

Ordering craft lager, shrimp tacos and crispy chicken
Each table had a smart order (T-order) system, so we could browse photos and detailed descriptions of the beers and food comfortably before ordering. After some deliberation, we started with the pub's signature dish, crispy chicken, along with shrimp tacos (2EA), and two glasses of cold craft lager, haha.

The complimentary snack was shrimp chips! The first drink to arrive was the craft lager, brewed with Cass Brew's expertise.

The Cass Brew craft lager (ABV 4.5% / IBU 19) had that signature nutty malt flavor and a clean, refreshing finish that was truly excellent.
The shrimp tacos we ordered alongside it (2EA, ₩11,000) looked absolutely delicious — plump, well-grilled shrimp on a soft tortilla, topped with fresh vegetables and a hint of cilantro!

Taking a big bite, the springy texture of the shrimp blended harmoniously with the vegetables and salsa sauce, giving off a fresh, exotic flavor.

The freshness of the tacos paired really well with the beer — such a good combo!
Next came the main dish, the crispy chicken (₩22,000), and its look alone made my mouth water. It arrived piled high, golden and crispy, with the juices still locked in under the crunchy coating — a textbook example of crispy outside, juicy inside!!

Dipping it alternately in the honey mustard sauce and the sweet-spicy sauce that came with it, my hand kept reaching for more without getting tired of it. It was light and crispy without being greasy — I thought there couldn't be a better beer snack than this, haha.

Second round: Suntory draft beer, a cocktail and a dark beer
As we kept eating, we ordered another round — this time the Suntory draft beer, with its impressively smooth foam!

The Suntory draft beer (ABV 5.5%) also had that fine, smooth head and creaminess that really captured the beer's flavor — instead of sharp carbonation, it delivered a heavy, rich aroma and a savory depth that filled the mouth. A premium lager 👍

It paired well with the food too.
With the great atmosphere and delicious food, the conversation flowed easily and the beer went down smoothly — a genuinely nice evening. And here's a fact: this place is also known for its pizza! They apparently have a wood-fired oven, and people say the pizza is light and delicious. I'll have to come back for beer and pizza next time, haha.

We wrapped up with a Jack Honey Ginger and a Harry Potter (dark beer)!!! Weizenhaus Bangbae Branch 1, this bar near Sadang Station, let me fully enjoy both great craft beer and a warm, moody atmosphere — I'll definitely be back the next time I'm craving beer. If you're looking for reliable food and quality craft beer near Sadang, I highly recommend giving it a visit!
