Uijeongbu fried chicken takeout: Dalgom's three flavors

In short

Dalgom's is a fried chicken takeout and delivery shop near the entrance to Uijeongbu Jeil Market in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi. I took home a one-and-a-half-chicken order in three flavors with my child, who ate it well; the shop was tidy, but there was no dine-in seating and my pickup took about 20 minutes.

Where is Dalgom's in Uijeongbu Jeil Market, and how is parking?

Dalgom's (닭강정 달곰's) is at 56 Simin-ro 143beon-gil, Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do. The shop was so tidy that I asked whether it had just opened, but the owner said it had been operating for more than three years.

The hours listed in the original post are 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with regular closure every Monday. It also stated that customers using the Uijeongbu Jeil Market parking lot receive a one-hour free parking voucher. I parked in a nearby open lot, so I did not use the voucher.

It was easy to find because it is right at the entrance to Jeil Market.

There was also a post and waiting space for pets at the entrance.

What size and flavors did I choose to eat with my child?

There were three sizes, and depending on the size, I could choose from one to three flavors. I chose one and a half chickens in three flavors so I could include a sweet option for my child.

Choosing a Dalgom's takeout order

The menu included maneul ganjang gangjeong (garlic soy fried chicken), gochu maneul gangjeong (chili garlic fried chicken), fried gangjeong, ppuringkle gangjeong (powder-seasoned fried chicken), and kkulmat gangjeong (honey-flavored fried chicken).

For my child, I chose kkulmat gangjeong, then added maneul ganjang gangjeong and ppuringkle gangjeong because I was curious about the flavor.

Can you eat there, and how long did pickup take?

Because the shop specializes in takeout and delivery, there was no place to eat inside. There was, however, a space to wait for orders.

They started cooking once an order came in. When orders are busy, the wait can be long, so I felt it would be better to order ahead before visiting.

When I visited, three people were waiting ahead of me, and I received my order about 20 minutes later. While waiting, I could watch the dakgangjeong (sweet crispy fried chicken) being made.

I felt the price was affordable and the portions were generous. Local currency could be used at the time of my visit, and I was told that ordering through a delivery app came with a ₩3,000 discount. However, the original post does not specify prices by menu item, the discount app, or the applicable conditions.

Did my child enjoy the takeout dakgangjeong?

We opened the takeout at home and ate it together, and I was happy that my child ate it well. My child usually said even brined fried chicken was spicy and did not eat much of it, but ate this dakgangjeong well.

The ppuringkle gangjeong had a generous coating of powder, and I enjoyed it.

Seeing my child eat it so well made me think it could also be worth considering for food to send to a daycare birthday party later. This time, I looked around the market, took it home, and ate it with my child as a meal.
