Yangyang raw fish takeout at Yangyangbada: halibut, flounder, mulhoe
In short
Yangyangbada is a raw fish (hoe) restaurant in the Namun-ri restaurant row of Yangyang-eup, Gangwon, that takes phone orders for takeout pickup. Traveling with a baby, this visitor skipped the dining room and picked up halibut and flounder for two at 45,000 won plus mulhoe (cold raw fish soup) at 15,000 won to eat in a hotel room, and Yangyangbada packed the lettuce wraps, dipping sauces, mulhoe broth and thin noodles separately so it tasted no different from eating in. For travelers in Yangyang with a baby, Yangyangbada is an easy way to have fresh raw fish without a sit-down meal.

Raw fish takeout in Yangyang, Gangwon! Yangyangbada. Open daily 12:00–22:30.

Last week I went on my first ever trip to Gangwon with my baby! Yangyang → Sokcho → Goseong → Pyeongchang, then back to Seoul via Pyeongchang again — we really covered all of Gangwon^_^
I'd mostly been to Gangwon in the summer vacation season before, so going in this nice weather in September was soooo good! If your schedule allows it... honestly, an autumn trip to Gangwon like this is highly, highly recommended.
The first place we visited on the trip! Let me introduce Yangyangbada, a raw fish restaurant in Yangyang.

Where is Yangyangbada, and where do you park?
Yangyangbada is at 16 Namun 9-gil, Yangyang-eup, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon, South Korea. We parked briefly in a nearby alley and picked up our takeout order!
It's in the building next to the Songi Dakgangjeong branch, 100 meters ahead on the right past the front of the NH Hanaro Mart. (Yangyang raw fish restaurant · Yangyang raw fish takeout · Yangyang restaurant recommendation)

Located in Namun-ri in Yangyang, this place sits in a village restaurant row that really gives off that Gangwon-travel feeling!
We phoned in our order the day before and picked up the raw fish as takeout. With a baby along, dining in felt like too much hassle, so the plan was to eat dinner at the hotel! hahaha

Yangyangbada menu and set prices
- (Signature menu) 3-person Special: ₩100,000 — halibut + seasonal raw fish or flounder + choice of 1 seafood + nurungji squid sundae (2 pieces)
- Nurungji squid sundae, 1 piece (with raw fish order): ₩15,000 *only orderable together with a raw fish order*
- 2-person Basic Couple Set: ₩57,000 — choice of 1 halibut serving or 1 sekkochi serving + nurungji squid sundae (2 pieces)
- 2-person Special: ₩70,000 — halibut for two + choice of 1 seafood (sea squirt/abalone/sea cucumber) + nurungji squid sundae (1 piece)
- 4-person Special: ₩140,000 — assorted raw fish (3 kinds) + mixed seafood (sea squirt, abalone, sea cucumber) + nurungji squid sundae (2 pieces)
- 3–4 person assorted raw fish, 3 kinds (no substitutions): ₩65,000
- (Other menu items) sea cucumber, abalone, sea squirt, etc. / spicy fish stew, mulhoe, hoedeopbap (raw fish rice bowl), kkaennip-makhoe (perilla leaf raw fish wraps), etc.
Yangyangbada has a wide range of menu items. If you want to sample a bit of everything, going with one of the 2–4 person set menus is the easy choice! The sets come with raw fish as well as seafood like abalone, and even include the nurungji squid sundae!
What we ordered for takeout: halibut and flounder 45,000 won, mulhoe 15,000 won
My husband, who loves raw fish, chose halibut sashimi and flounder sashimi plus mulhoe takeout instead of one of the 2-person set menus.
Halibut + flounder (for two) ₩45,000 / Mulhoe ₩15,000
For me, who's not that big a raw fish fan, pairing it with tangy mulhoe — kind of like cold naengmyeon — made for such a great combination! No regrets on this choice!!

What comes in the Yangyangbada takeout package?
They also packed it neatly for easy eating, which was so convenient. Lettuce wraps, of course, plus a variety of sauces (chogochujang, ssamjang, soy sauce), wasabi, and vegetables (perilla leaves, garlic)!
There were plenty of raw fish restaurants near the hotel too, but eating raw fish takeout comfortably in our room while looking at the sea! ^_^ Even without the baby factor, this is honestly so much better.

Fresh halibut sashimi and flounder sashimi! Every cut was so firm and springy, in excellent condition. *For the mulhoe, they even packed the broth and thin noodles separately in a plastic bottle! We got to eat it in great condition, just like eating in the restaurant@_@

The portions were more generous than expected, so we skipped the instant rice! For anyone traveling in Gangwon, and anyone stopping by Yangyang during their trip, I highly, highly recommend Yangyangbada as a Yangyang raw fish restaurant · Yangyang raw fish takeout · Yangyang restaurant recommendation~~! 🌊
