Eunpyeong ramen with a 1,000-won soft-boiled egg: Oreno Ramen
In short
Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong is a chicken broth ramen restaurant on Bulgwangcheon-gil in Eunpyeong, Seoul, and the menu has just two bowls: tori paitan and kara paitan, 13,000 won each. We added a soft-boiled marinated egg for 1,000 won to both the plain tori paitan and the spicy kara paitan, then asked for a bowl of rice to finish off the leftover broth. Even a grandmother who sticks to Korean food and rarely eats anything foreign asked to come back for this rich chicken broth.

Why the Bulgwangcheon Stream branch of Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong?
Hi, this is Nana! I went to Oreno Ramen, one of the top picks for good food in Eunpyeong-gu. This chicken broth ramen place is so famous it has branches in every hot spot in Seoul — Jamsil, Anguk, Songridan-gil, Gangnam...!!!
Of all of them, I especially love this branch by Bulgwangcheon Creek hahaha. It's perfect to walk along the creek after eating. And the ramen shop itself feels cozy and quaint, kind of like being on a trip to Japan haha.

Can you bring a baby to Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong?
Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong feels cozy but actually has lots of tables and good table turnover. There were plenty of people eating with babies too. The flavor is rich but not too intense, so kids and adults alike tend to like it. Plus the whole storefront is floor-to-ceiling glass, so you get a lovely, warm view of Bulgwangcheon Creek.
Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong menu and prices: only two bowls
Oreno Ramen is nationally famous for its intensely rich chicken broth Japanese-style ramen. The menu is:
- Tori paitan (chicken white broth) — ₩13,000
- Kara paitan (spicy chicken white broth) — ₩13,000
That's it — just these two!

Free noodle, broth and rice refills
A great ramen restaurant in Eunpyeong Free noodle refills Free broth refills Rice available to order, and refillable for free As long as you place one order per person, they refill noodles, broth, and even rice, so big eaters can have a really filling meal!!

Chicken broth like samgyetang concentrated three times over
The reason so many Eunpyeong locals love this place, and people come over from neighboring areas for it, is simply that the Japanese-style ramen is delicious. The rich chicken broth is the best. It's like samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) broth concentrated about three times — that thick, savory flavor!!!! During meal times there's obviously a wait haha.

Adding the soft-boiled marinated egg for 1,000 won
This soft-boiled egg is really savory and soft too. One comes standard with the ramen, but I love this soft egg so much I added an extra one.

There's an option to add an extra soft-boiled egg (+₩1,000)...! It's so, so soft, and when you crack it open the yolk runs out really loosely, so eating it with the ramen broth makes everything even more savory.
The noodles are exactly the kind you'd get in Japanese ramen — chewy and not light at all, so they go really well with the rich chicken broth.

The ramen a Korean-food-only grandmother wanted to eat again
My grandmother is completely Korean-food-only and doesn't really eat unfamiliar, foreign food...!! But last time we were out walking along Bulgwangcheon Creek and had a bowl of ramen together at this Eunpyeong favorite, Oreno Ramen, and she said the chicken broth was rich and hearty and asked to go again haha.

How spicy is the kara paitan at Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong?
With the spicy ramen, the broth color didn't look much different at first, but once you eat it and the seasoning mixes in, the spiciness becomes clear. It's about as spicy as a regular instant ramyeon — not the kind that burns your tongue — so even people who can't handle spice well can eat this red ramen just fine ^^

Rice in the leftover broth, then a walk along Bulgwangcheon Stream
I asked for rice and mixed it into the leftover ramen broth. It's richer and even more delicious than samgyetang... T_T Mixing in the rice at the end made for a perfect meal. Eating Japanese ramen at this favorite spot within 5 minutes' walk of Saejeol Station, then taking a lap around Bulgwangcheon Creek, made for a totally perfect course.
