Today I went to Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch in Yangju! I'd heard the lunch special was really generous, so I had high expectations — and it turned out to be the ultimate combo of meat + Hamhung naengmyeon + doenjang sulbap (soybean paste rice)!

This is Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch, located in Yangju. They occupy an entire large building. There's a spacious parking lot right in front, so parking isn't a worry at all. There are also waiting seats outside in case the restaurant is full!

We had made a Naver reservation before visiting, so our seat was already prepared. They set us up on the 1st floor, and since we arrived after the lunch rush, we got in without any wait.

There's spacious seating up on the 2nd floor too! There are even private rooms on the 2nd floor, so if you're coming with a group, using a room would be really convenient!

There's even a self-serve side dish bar, so you can refill anything you run low on. The 1st floor didn't seem to have a self-serve bar — maybe they bring it over if you ask? We got full off the first round of side dishes so we never refilled, so now I'm curious haha.

What comes with the 19,000-won lunch galbi set

Here's the menu! Apparently "Manpo" in Manpo Galbi means "to give generously." The charcoal-grilled menu includes handmade Hanwoo pork galbi, fresh pork galbi, handmade LA galbi, and fresh/marinated beef galbi.

After some deliberation, we ordered the [Lunch Special] Handmade Galbi Set 19.0 for 2! Pork galbi 250g + naengmyeon + doenjang sulbap for ₩19,000 — what a deal. It's the same portion as the à la carte galbi, but they throw in doenjang sulbap too, so the lunch special is a no-brainer!

If you come after lunch hours on a weekday, just so you know, you can get a free doenjang stew with the Naver notification coupon! And if you write a receipt review when you pay, you get ₩2,000 off the total bill! No reason not to do it.

There are disposable aprons near the entrance too, for anyone who needs one!

Side dishes including yukhoe and yukjeon

The first side dishes to arrive! You guys, the quality of the side dishes here is no joke. Starting with potato salad, scallion salad, and gochu-garlic ssamjang mix...

...there's even salad, yukhoe (beef tartare), and yukjeon (beef pancake). I think I could get full off the side dishes alone lol. The spread is so generous and plentiful that I don't think you'd even need a refill.

This is the quality of yukhoe served as a basic side dish?! It's savory and genuinely delicious. The yukhoe was so good I scraped the plate clean.

Sweet marinated galbi and doenjang sulbap

The galbi arrived and went straight onto the grill~! We ordered 2 servings and got 3 thick, hefty pieces of galbi. It had been so long since I had seasoned galbi, I was already excited!

Get golden brown quickly, please! The waiting feels long... drooling already.

While waiting for the meat, the doenjang sulbap arrived! I expected a small stone pot, but the portion was surprisingly substantial. It's packed with ingredients too — zucchini, mushrooms, meat, tofu, nothing left out.

The doenjang sulbap came out piping hot in a stone pot! You can see how generous the portion is lol. Loaded with rice too, so it's plenty for two people. I personally prefer boiling stew with rice together like sulbap rather than just pouring rice into stew afterward, and this doenjang sulbap was exactly my kind of flavor, so it was really delicious!

Naengmyeon with the galbi, plus free bbeong ice cream

Even after all that, we still couldn't skip the naengmyeon! This is the handmade Hamhung naengmyeon that comes free with a galbi order. The portion isn't small either — more than an after-meal naengmyeon serving but less than a regular one, I'd say? But with the meat + doenjang sulbap + naengmyeon combined, it's absolutely plenty lol. I had mul-naengmyeon (cold noodle soup) and my boyfriend had bibim-naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles), and both were delicious!

Ahh, beautifully grilled galbi. The galbi marinade is sweet, and pairing it with all the side dishes is a fantastic combo. We got so full eating that we nearly left some meat behind. With a spread this good, does the owner even make a profit...? T_T I'm definitely coming back here whenever I want galbi again! It's close to home and the portions are great, so there's no reason not to lol.

There's even floss by the register — nice touch!

And there's bbeong-tteok ice cream (puffed rice cracker ice cream) at the entrance! Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch even takes care of dessert after the meal — amazing. It's not even something you pay for, they just give it out free~! And I love that it's bbeong-tteok instead of a cone.

And right next to it, I noticed ice cups too?! There's even a fridge stocked separately so you can have your coffee iced. Most restaurant coffee machines only do hot coffee without an iced option, but Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch really thought of everything... they take care of everyone, kids and adults alike, and it's genuinely touching!

There's a reason this place is so well-known. Amazing spread and a friendly owner! With great weather and delicious galbi, it was a completely happy day. If you're looking for a good galbi restaurant around Uijeongbu or Yangju, I recommend Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch!
