Yangju galbi restaurant, 250g seasoned ribs ₩19,000: Manpo Galbi

In short

Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch is a charcoal-grilled Korean pork rib (galbi) restaurant on the 1st floor at 65 Songnang-ro, Yangju, Gyeonggi. A regular who had visited the Uijeongbu branch more than ten times came to the Yangju main branch for the first time and grilled the signature handmade seasoned galbi at 19,000 won for a 250g serving, with complimentary yukhoe and yukjeon, free naengmyeon, and coffee, bbeong-twigi and ice cream afterwards. Between the large free parking lot and the wide spacing between tables, Manpo Galbi Yangju works well for family meals and group dinners in Yangju.

Today I'm bringing you a review of a Yangju Korean BBQ spot I'd recommend for eating out — Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch :) I've mentioned Manpo Galbi in a previous post before. I've been to the Uijeongbu branch more than ten times, so I already trusted the taste pretty well — but this time, I finally visited the Yangju branch for the first time!

Where Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch is, its hours and how big it is

Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch is located at 65 Songnang-ro, 1st floor, Yangju, Gyeonggi, South Korea, and is open daily from 11:00 to 22:00~! Just like I'd seen in other reviews, the store is way bigger than the Uijeongbu branch!!! It seems like a great fit for family meals, group dinners, meetups in Yangju, or even special occasions, haha.

Is parking easy at Manpo Galbi Yangju?

What I liked most was that the parking space was seriously huge! I'd seen other reviews mention the spacious, free parking lot as a big plus, and once I saw it myself, I understood why haha. I could visit without any parking worries~!

Walking inside, the place was bigger than I expected and the tables were spaced out generously, making it feel comfortable overall. It seems like a lot of celebrities have come here too, haha. The place was kept clean, and even though I came a bit after lunchtime, there were still quite a few customers. So I couldn't get interior photos, but as you can see in the picture, the ventilation system worked really well, which I liked.

Manpo Galbi's menu and prices: 250g handmade seasoned galbi for 19,000 won

Here's the menu~! While looking it over, I ordered the signature handmade seasoned galbi. Manpo Galbi's signature dish in Yangju is handmade Korean pork galbi grilled over charcoal, and at 250g per serving for 19,000 won, the price wasn't as burdensome as I expected~!

After ordering, the basic side dishes came out generously too. Everything from salads to pickled vegetables was served in a good variety, each one neat and clean. The side dishes were so plentiful that just trying one bite of each could fill you up, hahaha.

The complimentary yukhoe and yukjeon

And personally, what I really liked was the complimentary yukhoe (raw beef tartare) and yukjeon (pan-fried beef)!!! The portion of yukhoe wasn't as small as I expected, and each person got one piece of yukjeon — usually complimentary food like this doesn't taste great, but this was as good as something you'd order separately~! Being treated to dish after dish seems to be a hallmark of Manpo Galbi — I loved it, haha.

How the charcoal-grilled seasoned galbi tastes, and how smoky it gets

Finally I put the galbi on the charcoal grill, and yeah, the seasoning really is what matters most for galbi, haha. Manpo Galbi's seasoning is genuinely delicious!!!! It's not just overly sweet — it's seasoned in a clean, mild way, so it wasn't overwhelming even after eating a lot. The meat wasn't tough either, and it was tender with no gamey smell, so I really enjoyed it, hahaha.

Also, even though it's charcoal-grilled galbi, there was almost no smoke, which made the meal more pleasant than I expected. I liked that my clothes didn't end up smelling too badly either.

Free naengmyeon, plus coffee, bbeong-twigi and ice cream

And here's another reason I love Manpo Galbi! The naengmyeon (cold noodles) is free. Being able to eat naengmyeon after the meat, all for free, was pure gratitude, haha. I thought the portion would be small since it's a dessert naengmyeon, but it turned out to be a decent amount, and it was good enough to be sold as a stand-alone dish~!

After finishing the meal, coffee, bbeong-twigi (puffed rice crackers), and ice cream were all set out. Serving it over ice for the iced coffee was such a nice touch!! Especially putting the ice cream on top of the bbeong-twigi — it was fun and tasted great too, haha. I couldn't make it look pretty though, hahaha.

Visiting Manpo Galbi Yangju with kids: high chairs and restrooms

Oh, and baby chairs are available, and the restrooms are separated for men and women inside. There's also a receipt review option, so don't miss it~!!

Overall, the food was neat and the service was so varied that I understood why Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch is a great spot for family dinners~! With the spacious parking lot, comfortable interior, reasonable prices, and neat side dishes, I'd also recommend it to anyone looking for a place for a gathering, group dinner, or meetup in Yangju!! If you're like me and often visited the Uijeongbu branch, I think it's worth checking out the Yangju branch too :)
