Seoul café for pistachio tiramisu & laptop work: Pict Roastery
In short
Pict Roastery Magoknaru Branch (픽트로스터리 마곡나루점) is a specialty coffee café in Gangseo, Seoul. After visiting Seoul Botanic Park, I had an Americano, vanilla bean latte, and pistachio tiramisu with pleasantly unsweet cream. Verdict: a café I’d happily revisit for coffee and laptop time.

After a long-overdue outing to Seoul Botanic Park, I stopped by a café near Magoknaru Station for coffee and dessert ☕ I’d been curious about Pict Roastery Magoknaru Branch (픽트로스터리 마곡나루점) because I heard it roasts its own beans. I’ve visited quite a few cafés around Magok, but this was the most satisfying one by far. A return visit is officially happening. I’m planning to come back with my mom soon, haha.
A convenient stop after Seoul Botanic Park, with parking
Pict Roastery is about a three-minute walk from Exit 2 of Magoknaru Station, in Unit 226 on the second floor of Castle Park (161-1 Magokjungang-ro, Gangseo-gu, Seoul). It is also within walking distance of Seoul Botanic Park and Magokjungang-ro, so it is in a great spot for a post-park café stop. The building offers two hours of free basement parking, making it an easy place to visit by car too.

Specialty beans roasted in-house
What makes this more than an ordinary café is that it is a specialty coffee spot in Magok. There is a roastery area at the back where you can see the roasting machine and watch the beans being roasted. They say they select only specialty-grade green beans and roast them in-house, and the aroma really does stand apart. For coffee lovers, watching the roasting process alone is reason enough to visit.

The Americano and vanilla bean latte
An Americano with large ice cubes
I also loved that the Americano came with large ice cubes, so it did not get watered down too quickly even when I took my time drinking it. It was smooth enough to rival drip coffee, with no sharp acidity, and rich-coffee fans would be happy with it too. They also have a separate hand-drip menu, so next time I want to choose my beans and try one that way.

A smoothly drinkable vanilla bean latte
The vanilla bean latte had a natural gradient of milk and coffee that practically begged to be photographed. On the first sip, the gentle vanilla bean aroma spread through it; it was not overly sweet and went down smoothly, so it felt light even for a latte.

Pistachio tiramisu that was not too sweet
After much deliberation, I chose the pistachio tiramisu for dessert, and it was seriously, seriously delicious. A generous scattering of chopped pistachios sat on top of the soft pale-green pistachio cream, making it look mouthwatering before I even took a bite. I usually struggle with cakes that are too sweet, but this cream was sweet while keeping the pistachio flavor nicely balanced, so I finished it without feeling weighed down. The cream and cake layers were stacked so neatly and closely that every bite made me think, nooo, I don’t want it to end... It paired beautifully with coffee too. Highly, highly recommended!!

Laptop time at the window seats with outlets
It is not a large café, but the full-height windows meant it never felt cramped. The black-toned interior and stylish tables and chairs make it great for photos, while the window seats have outlets, making them excellent for laptop work. I would recommend it as a study café in Seoul too. The staff were kind as well, so I had a very comfortable visit.

Pict Roastery near Magoknaru Station was a great Magok café for laptop time, with its in-house specialty-bean roastery and memorable not-too-sweet pistachio tiramisu.
