Korean BBQ with parking near Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Station
In short
Dongnaejeong Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Main Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant in the food alley by Exit 4 of Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Station in Seoul, where staff grill every cut for you from start to finish. On a rainy weekday at 9pm the restaurant was still full, and the order was two servings of gabrisal, one serving of pork belly and steamed rice, finished with melchorim fried rice. After more than 10 visits, the gabrisal plus pork belly combination is the one to order at Dongnaejeong.

Three things that make a good Korean BBQ restaurant
As a self-proclaimed foodie, I have my own criteria for choosing a Korean BBQ restaurant 😌
- Quality of the meat
- Whether staff grill it for you
- Quality of the side dishes and accompaniments
The most important thing for making me come back is ✔ of course the taste of the meat! In general, thick-cut meat seals in the juices, and that's what makes you go "whoa" — it just tastes better.
✔ Since I'd never manage to grill that thick cut myself, having a staff member who's more skilled than me handling it really brings out the full flavor, right?
✔ And the side dishes, banchan, and rice matter more than you'd think. This applies to every restaurant, but if the accompaniments served before the meat starts grilling are tasty and well put together, 90% of the time the meat is good too 😉 A truly great restaurant doesn't skimp on anything.
Anyway, that was a long intro, but Dongnaejeong is a place I've kept coming back to on my own dime more than 10 times, so I wrote this one with real heart ✨ Let's go.
Dongnaejeong Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Main Branch: hours and how to find it
Dongnaejeong Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Main Branch is open daily from 15:00 to 23:00, at 1F, 5 Dangsan-ro 30-gil, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. For parking, use a nearby public lot.
To get there, come out of Exit 4 at Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Station and head down toward the Yeongdeungpo-gu Office food alley. There's a lottery ticket shop at the entrance to the alley — go in from that side, and you're right. It sits on a corner, so the sign is easy to spot.
What Dongnaejeong is like at 9pm on a weekday
I visited around 9pm on a weekday after work, and even though it was raining, the place was completely full '-' There were roughly 10 or so round tables.

Around 10pm, as I was paying and leaving, I snapped a photo of the tables once the crowd had thinned out. Good for a sense of the atmosphere!
The Dongnaejeong menu and its signature cut, gabrisal
True to a great restaurant, Dongnaejeong keeps its menu simple! I've tried everything on it, and Dongnaejeong's signature meat is, of course, 'gabrisal.' It's the tastiest and most special — the dish that makes you come back.

There's even a how-to-eat guide, and with all the different accompaniments, eating it is genuinely fun.
Ordering gabrisal for two, pork belly for one and steamed rice
This time at Dongnaejeong I ordered gabrisal (2 servings), pork belly (1 serving), and steamed rice. Let's check out the visuals first!!!

Looks delicious just from that, right ㅋ.ㅋ Now for the detailed review.
Gabrisal grilled for you by Dongnaejeong staff
I ordered the gabrisal (2 servings) first. They grill it together with kkwarigochu peppers, mushrooms, and garlic.

Staff grilled it from start to finish, and it was such a relief!!

Since the meat is thick-cut, staff came by at least 10 times? to check on it while grilling >_+

Once it's cut into bite-sized pieces and cooked just right, they bring it straight to your plate.
Whoa....... the juices really burst out. So delicious I was genuinely happy ^.^

Inside the foil is mushroom, and when you cut into it later, it's pure moist goodness!!

Melchorim and fried rice made with a bowl of steamed rice
And Dongnaejeong's signature 'melchorim' (braised anchovies). The melchorim I used to only get in Jeju is here too!! It's great dipped with the meat.

Later, even if you just order a single bowl of rice, they mix it with sesame oil and turn it into fried rice for you <so good>

We ate the meat with salt, wasabi, mushroom braising sauce, grilled kkwarigochu peppers, radish kimchi, gat kimchi, baek kimchi, lettuce and perilla leaves for wraps, and grilled garlic. No time to rest!!
How one serving of Dongnaejeong pork belly tastes
And the pork belly...💟 This one is also a genuine recommendation. If I had to pick two dishes from the Dongnaejeong menu, it'd be the gabrisal + pork belly combo :)

Bursting with juice ❤

Truly thick, delicious pork belly...! Even for just one serving, they grilled it with so much care — I ate it gratefully.
Where to park for Dongnaejeong: Dangsan Public Parking Lot
Honestly, there isn't much decent parking around the Yeongdeungpo-gu Office food alley... The public lot I recommend most is Dangsan Public Parking Lot! It's quite large, so I'd suggest it.
The rates are ₩400 per 5 minutes / ₩800 per 10 minutes / ₩4,800 per hour. Just so you know.
If you're looking for a great Korean BBQ restaurant near Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Station, I highly recommend 'Dongnaejeong.'
