Seoul ramen restaurant near City Hall Station: Mentsuru motsu ramen
In short
Mentsuru City Hall Branch is a Japanese ramen restaurant near City Hall Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. We shared motsu ramen and hormon-don after work, with plenty of beef intestines and a sweet-savory sauce that worked beautifully over rice. A warm, filling dinner option.

There are so many office workers around City Hall Station that, around quitting time, you really notice all the delicious-looking restaurants. After work that day, my friend and I were debating dinner and decided to visit Mentsuru City Hall Branch (멘츠루 시청점), thinking a warm bowl of soup would make for a filling meal, haha. It seemed like a nice spot for lunch or dinner after work, especially for anyone working near City Hall Station.

A menu that makes it easy to choose ramen and rice bowls together
I liked that Mentsuru has a range of dishes, including ramen, so it is easy to pick according to your taste. Along with different kinds of ramen, there are rice bowls too, which makes it nice when visiting with a friend and ordering what each person wants. Above all, the menu is varied and the prices felt reasonable, so it seemed like a good place for office workers to grab a meal at a time when eating out can feel expensive.

Maybe that is why we saw quite a few office workers having dinner after work when we visited. It had just the right feel for when you want a satisfying meal near the office without anything too heavy.

Out of the many options, we ordered the motsu ramen and hormon-don that day!

They also have a review event going on, so it could be nice to take part!

Motsu ramen generously filled with beef intestines
First up was the dish I had been looking forward to: motsu ramen! Motsu ramen is ramen with beef intestines, and I especially liked how generously they were included. I expected just a few pieces while eating the ramen, but there was more motsu than I had anticipated, making even one bowl feel very filling, haha.
I think anyone who likes beef intestines would be especially happy with this dish. The warm broth and noodles paired really well with bites of beef intestine in between. Even with just one bowl of ramen, it felt generous overall, without any sense that it was lacking meat or toppings. We had arrived hungry after work, so having warm broth and noodles truly felt like a proper dinner, haha.

Hormon-don with a delicious sweet-savory sauce
My friend ordered the hormon-don! Hormon-don is a rice bowl topped with hormon, or beef offal, and its sauce was especially delicious. The salty-sweet sauce went so well with the offal that I kept reaching for more rice.
Beef intestines or offal can sometimes have a strong distinctive flavor, but the lightly sweet and salty sauce came together so well that it was easy to eat without feeling overwhelming. My friend and I shared a little of each dish, and ordering both ramen and a rice bowl was lovely because we got to enjoy more flavors than we would with just one menu item.

How was it for an after-work dinner near City Hall Station?
Overall, Mentsuru had a varied menu and fairly reasonable prices, making it a nice option when looking for somewhere to eat around City Hall Station. It seems particularly well suited to anyone looking for a good restaurant for office workers near City Hall Station! It would be fine for a quick lunch, and it also seemed great for dinner with a friend or colleague after work, like we did.
There are ramen dishes, of course, but there are also rice bowls, so choosing a meal should be easy even if the people dining together have different tastes. Personally, the motsu ramen, generously loaded with beef intestines, was the most memorable dish I had that day, while the hormon-don was great with rice thanks to its delicious sweet-savory sauce.
If you are looking for somewhere near City Hall Station where office workers can casually stop by after work for a satisfying dinner, I think Mentsuru is worth a visit :) It was just right for wrapping up the day over something delicious with a friend after work, so I would recommend it, haha.
