Two sirloin gyukatsu Set 1 at Sinnonhyeon beef cutlet spot Ichigyu

Today I want to introduce a great spot for a Gangnam date. Around Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station there are so many good restaurants that it's hard to decide where to go — but I was suddenly craving gyukatsu (Japanese-style breaded beef cutlet), which I always love anyway!! So I went on a Gangnam Station date to eat gyukatsu. This is the gyukatsu specialty restaurant Ichigyu!

Gyukatsu comes out crispy on the outside with a reddish, rare center inside. You grill it yourself on the tabletop plate that comes with it. It's fun to grill it yourself, and it tastes great too — I'd recommend this as a Gangnam Station date spot and a Sinnonhyeon restaurant worth visiting!

Where is Ichigyu Gangnam Sinnonhyeon Branch, and where do you park?

Ichigyu Gangnam Sinnonhyeon Branch is 3 minutes on foot from Sinnonhyeon Station and 9 minutes from Gangnam Station. It's really close to Sinnonhyeon Station, so accessibility is great! There's no parking inside the building, so you'll need to park at a nearby lot.

Nearby paid private parking lots include Le Meridien Lot 2, Le Meridien Lot 3, and Semyeong Parking!

Inside Ichigyu: the room and the menu

Head up to the 2nd floor of the building! You can also take the elevator. The interior had a Japanese feel and was clean and pleasant! Meat restaurants sometimes have that distinct smell, but this place was spotless~~

The menu has both individual dishes and set menus. We came specifically wanting to both eat gyukatsu, so we ordered Set 1 with two gyukatsu and drinks!

What I ordered was,

• Set 1 — Gyukatsu (sirloin) + Gyukatsu (sirloin) + 2 drinks (cola/cider), 42,000 won
• Side dish — Fried egg, 1,000 won
• Side dish — Karaage & fried shrimp, 7,000 won

And here it comes~~ Doesn't the presentation alone look amazing? The gyukatsu spread comes with rice in the middle and a grill plate alongside.

I opened the rice and steam was rising! Getting warm rice from the start was so nice,,,, the rice alone was delicious ㅠㅠ

Look at the gyukatsu... wow, it was bigger than I expected, and the meat looked really fresh too!!!

You put it on the grill plate and cook it to your preferred doneness.

Depending on preference, I put some on rice and some with wasabi! But most of all, wow,,, since it's beef, the juices burst out the moment I bit in ㅠㅠㅠ And it was chewy and savory~ gyukatsu really is love. I eat gyukatsu often because I love it so much, and I couldn't believe there was a place doing it this well in Sinnonhyeon!

How to eat gyukatsu with butter on top of the beef

And here's something interesting — they gave us butter? I'd never seen a place serve butter before! Looking at the instructions on how to eat it, it said to put butter on top of the meat, so I tried it once, and wow, this combo was seriously so good,,,? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Once I tried it, I kept putting butter on every bite!

We also enjoyed the fried egg and shrimp & karaage we ordered as sides. The fried items were, as expected, delicious, and putting the fried egg on rice with the gyukatsu added even more flavor and was really tasty haha

That's my visit to Ichigyu Gangnam Sinnonhyeon Branch, a Sinnonhyeon restaurant. If you love gyukatsu like me, I think you'll be really satisfied here! Or if you've never tried gyukatsu before, this is a good place to start. I came out for a Gangnam Station date with a close friend after a while, and had a fun time — I'd recommend this as a place to check out near Gangnam Station. It was a delicious meal!
