Ramen restaurant by Gangnam Station Exit 11, Michelin-listed: Oreno

There's a Michelin Guide-listed ramen spot near Gangnam Station? How did I not know this,, anyway now I do so I went haha! It was on the hill near Gangnam Station Exit 11! Here's my review of Oreno Ramen Gangnam :))

How to find Oreno Ramen Gangnam from Exit 11, and how long is the wait?

Come out Exit 11 and just walk up the hill. It's a Michelin Guide-listed ramen place, but wow, does it hide well.

Oreno Ramen Gangnam doesn't take reservations, you just do walk-in waiting!! No Catch Table either, just line up in person haha. But the store is huge so even walk-in waiting turns over fast~!

A staff member seats you right at the entrance! At first I only saw the bar seating and thought the place might be small, but the inside was actually massive lol. That's probably why the turnover is so good.

It's an open kitchen so you can watch everything being prepared. They make the ramen right after you order, so you do need to wait a bit? Haha

Proof of the Michelin Guide listing!! Actually the Michelin listing belongs to the Hapjeong location, and they've opened chains everywhere, and this Gangnam branch is one of them haha. Even so the Gangnam location gets crazy waits for being a Michelin spot,,!!

Oreno Ramen has 6 locations including the flagship. The Hapjeong flagship line must be insane,,? We came to the Gangnam branch and even here the wait was crazy, but since the space is huge and it's a ramen place, the wait didn't take as long as expected and we got seated pretty quickly.

Free refills on noodles, broth and rice at Oreno Ramen Gangnam

There's pickled radish at the table. Free noodle refills! Free broth, rice, and kimchi refills too! Big eaters, don't be shy, just add more!!

The broth is legit, so it's a shame to leave it, make sure to add rice and finish it ㅠㅠ We were short on time so we just ate the basic set and left, and the broth was such a waste ㅠㅠ

Cold draft beer 🍺 you have to get the Sapporo!!

We ordered ginger and kimchi, oh right! These are free haha. But you have to actively order them — they used to come as default banchan, but so many people were leaving them uneaten that it seems they made even the basic side dishes optional.

Kara paitan vs tori paitan: why the onion flakes are the kick

The ramen came out after about a 5-minute wait. Since the broth is already prepped, it seems the noodles are what's made fresh right after ordering.

You get one soft-boiled egg per person, and of course you can add more haha. The soft-boiled egg condition was insane,, have you ever seen a soft egg done this perfectly?

And the kick here is the dark, blackish onion flakes — the umami on these was out of control. It would've been such a letdown without them.

It's ramen made with rich chicken broth (paitan), and of course the topping is chicken too!! I eat chicken breast a lot normally, but eating it like this was really delicious too? Haha

I saw it's been on a bunch of YouTube channels too? Yuksikman, Wassup Man, etc,, honestly the toppings were really generous and the noodle portion was huge too, loved that.

My boyfriend's tori paitan!! You could definitely tell the broth color was different, whether that's for the spice or not. But it wasn't really that spicy — I'm a lightweight with spice but I could still eat it happily.

Mixed tsukune with cheddar cheese and garlic sauce

The mixed tsukune arrived. Not the typical tsukune I knew — usually tsukune is dipped in an egg yolk sauce, but this tsukune already came drizzled with sauce, and the meatballs were really well simmered and delicious.

The tsukune comes with cheddar cheese sauce and garlic sauce. The tsukune is super hearty,,!! The ground meat balls were packed full without a single gap.

And eating them with the ramen broth worked surprisingly better than eating them on their own!! If you go to Oreno Ramen, definitely order the tsukune and try it with the ramen broth — seriously, so good,,!!

Oreno Ramen is so serious about soft-boiled eggs that they even have a separate fridge dedicated to aging them. Really!! Next time I come I want to add even more eggs, the soft-boiled egg was genuinely, genuinely the most delicious thing ㅠㅠㅠ

Is Oreno Ramen Gangnam worth it for ramen near Gangnam Station?

This is a great ramen spot near Gangnam Station, and the store size was huge. Even while waiting, the line moved so fast I thought, this is worth waiting for. And the ramen itself was seriously delicious,,,,, I'll be back again soon haha. Certified Gangnam Station ramen restaurant :))
