Lamb skewers near Dongdaegu Station, our first date back from vacation
Visited September 2, 2026, Yangbokjeom Dongdaegu Station Branch.
Exterior

We'd just gotten back from a vacation in Nha Trang a few days earlier, and when I asked my partner what they wanted for our first date back, they surprised me by saying lamb skewers. So we headed straight to Yangbokjeom, a lamb skewer specialist near Dongdaegu Station.

Unlike other lamb skewer places, Yangbokjeom has a very polished look, which is probably why it's always packed with a wait. There's no free dedicated parking, but there are plenty of paid lots nearby — don't waste time circling around, just park and enjoy your skewers in peace.
Weekday 6:30pm, exactly one table left
Interior

We arrived at Yangbokjeom at 6:30pm on a weekday. I assumed there'd obviously be seats, but aside from the reserved tables, exactly one was left — if we'd come even a little later we might have had to wait. Whew, so glad I left work a bit early. A steady stream of waiting customers followed right after us, and eating there I genuinely thought, thank goodness we made it in time.
Menu and order

Since we came for lamb skewers, we naturally ordered two servings first. The kkwabaegi-style sweet and sour pork and the wide noodles looked tempting too, but we're both light eaters and I had a bit of an upset stomach, so we just added one egg fried rice, which my partner loves.

As soon as we ordered, hot charcoal and four basic side dishes arrived quickly at the table. We portioned out the four prepared lamb skewer sauces — salt, cumin, curry, and chuanliao spice mix — onto our small plates, got fully ready to enjoy the skewers, and settled in for a bit of waiting.
8 skewers, 210g — winning on thickness

Finally, the long-awaited lamb skewers arrived. They quickly lined them up neatly over the hot charcoal. We had another round of patience, staring intently at the skewers slowly turning and cooking.

Yangbokjeom's lamb skewers come 8 to a serving, whereas most other lamb skewer places give you 10 per serving — so at first glance you might think, huh, that's less? But look closely — the lamb threaded onto each skewer is pretty thick, isn't it? When you add up the total weight, Yangbokjeom's 8 skewers actually outweigh other places' 10. Other shops run about 190–200g for 10 skewers, while Yangbokjeom packs 210g into just 8, so each bite is far more satisfying.

While the skewers were sizzling away nicely, the generous serving of fluffy fried rice also arrived. The ingredients were really simple for an egg fried rice, but why does egg fried rice from a restaurant always taste this good?

We pulled the juicy, well-charred lamb off the skewers, dipped it into the prepared sauces, and dug in happily. A bite with the various seasonings, a bite with the pickled radish we love, a bite with the smoky egg fried rice. The meat was thick, so it had great chew and let us enjoy the lamb flavor even more. Bigger really is better!

Is the wait worth it?
As we happily ate, the once-generous spread of lamb slowly turned into a pile of empty skewers, and our satisfaction and full bellies piled up right along with them — a truly satisfying meal. Yangbokjeom, the lamb skewer spot near Dongdaegu Station, is a polished, clean-looking place where you can enjoy thick, hearty lamb skewers. It's always got a wait, but beyond the delicious skewers, the fast and friendly service from the staff left a strong impression too. If you're eating lamb skewers near Dongdaegu Station, this is a restaurant worth the wait, again and again.
