Yeongdeungpo dakdoritang restaurant with free lunch rice: Doriyeon

I recently went to see the movie Odyssey at CGV Yeongdeungpo, and while I was in the area I stopped by Doriyeon Dakdoritang Yeongdeungpo-gu Office branch, which is famous around Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Station. You know how dakdoritang lives or dies by the sauce, right? Here you can really feel how much the owner cares about their dakdoritang. The taste was great and the space was so clean and pleasant that I left completely satisfied — I already booked a repeat visit, haha. Let me introduce it right away!

What is the restaurant like inside?

The interior of Doriyeon Dakdoritang Yeongdeungpo-gu Office branch is clean and pleasant. The atmosphere is tidy enough to be perfect for chatting with friends or having a lively group dinner :) The staff greeted me so warmly that I walked in feeling great!

They also just launched a samgye dak-hanmari (whole chicken with ginseng) menu, apparently. I think I'll be coming back for that on the hottest days of summer!

Doriyeon Dakdoritang Yeongdeungpo-gu Office branch uses 100% domestic fresh chicken, apparently, which got me even more excited, teehee.

The menu at Doriyeon Dakdoritang Yeongdeungpo-gu Office branch is dakdoritang and only dakdoritang. It's a menu board that really shows the owner's pride in their dakdoritang, haha. What I liked was that you can adjust the spice level and add all sorts of extra toppings.

We ordered easily through the tablet at the table.

Free rice at lunch at Doriyeon Dakdoritang

If you visit Doriyeon Dakdoritang Yeongdeungpo-gu Office branch during lunch hours, the rice is free! You can even choose your rice portion when ordering.

This is the portion I got after asking for a moderate amount of rice — the dakdoritang was so good that I refilled once more, haha...

The side dishes were solid! The soft tofu was especially good.

There was also bean sprout soup at the self-serve corner, so I grabbed a bowl of that too.

There's a special dipping sauce set out at every table! Dip the chewy rice cake and tender chicken into this sauce and the savory flavor explodes!

How to eat dakdoritang: sauce, bean sprout soup and rice cake

Eat the rice cake and noodles first, then once the 4-minute timer runs out, turn the heat down to low and keep eating, haha.

How does the boneless dakdoritang taste?

Finally, the main event: boneless dakdoritang! The sauce itself is on another level — the flavor soaked deep into both the meat and the rice cake. The rice cake here is especially amazing, chewy like garaetteok (cylindrical rice cake) in the best way, it's insane.

The boneless chicken was truly tender through and through. I want to eat it again already, ugh. There was zero hassle of picking bones out, so it was really easy and pleasant to eat! I piled on the sauce and devoured it happily.

And with a cool glass of makgeolli on the side, it was a truly perfect pairing, nothing to envy in the world! Unfortunately, the portion was so huge and generous that I couldn't finish it off with fried rice at the end, which I really regret. The sauce is so amazing that fried rice with it would definitely be incredible, but I felt like I was going to burst, so I just couldn't do it. Next time I come back, I'm making sure to finish it off with the snow cheese fried rice!!

Doriyeon Dakdoritang Yeongdeungpo-gu Office branch is a place that lacks nothing — taste, generous portions, value for money, freshness, and friendly service. If you find picking bones a hassle, I strongly recommend ordering the boneless option for an easy, comfortable meal!!
