Sindorim bossam restaurant with 13,000₩ mung bean pancake: Sambaekga

In short

Sindorim Sambaekga is a jokbal and bossam Korean restaurant on the first floor of the Sindorim Prugio commercial building in Guro, Seoul. Two diners ordered the bossam makguksu (cold buckwheat noodle) set and added a mung bean pancake (nokdu-jijimi) for 13,000 won; the bossam is set over a burner so it stayed warm to the last slice, and the standard portion was plenty for two. With 2 hours of parking support, Sindorim Sambaekga works well for gatherings and work dinners.

Where is Sindorim Sambaekga?

Sindorim Sambaekga is a jokbal (pig's trotters) and bossam (boiled pork wrap) restaurant on the 1st floor, Unit 118 of the Sindorim Prugio commercial building. It's super accessible — just cross one crosswalk after exiting Sindorim Station.

I often come to the Sindorim Station Prugio commercial building for meals or drinks around the neighborhood. Among the restaurants there, Sambaekga was a Sindorim jokbal-bossam place I'd been meaning to try. Today I finally got the chance, so here's my review!

  • Address: 661 Gyeongin-ro, 1st floor, Unit 118, Guro-gu, Seoul
  • Hours: 11:00 ~ 21:40 (weekday break time 15:00~16:00)

I went at an awkward weekend hour and the place still filled up fast.

The place isn't huge, but there's seating extending out of sight to the right, so it fits more people than you'd expect. When I visited there were what looked like moms' get-togethers and work dinners, and even some older folks eating — clearly a neighborhood favorite for both meals and drinks.

We ordered the Sindorim Sambaekga set menu. There were two of us, so we went with the bossam makguksu set plus a mung bean pancake.

Side dishes: fresh kimchi, chives and dried radish

Sindorim Sambaekga's basic banchan (side dishes) include fresh napa cabbage kimchi (geotjeori), chives, and dried radish strips. The kimchi color is amazing — crunchy napa cabbage bursting with garlicky umami.

The chives were mild but weirdly addictive — I kept picking at them even after finishing the bossam...

The dried radish was wonderfully crunchy and gave a nice chewy contrast to the soft bossam. First up as a starter came the cold jokbal salad (naengchae jokbal).

The mustard kick wasn't strong enough to bring tears — just enough to wake up the appetite.

Bossam kept warm on a burner — enough for two

Sindorim Sambaekga's bossam is served on a burner so it stays warm. When the bossam came out, they put it right on a burner to keep it warm... you can adjust the heat yourself too, which was great haha. Especially as a drinking snack that takes a while to finish, it usually goes cold and loses flavor, but here you can enjoy it hot all the way through.

The bossam portion looked plenty for two to eat generously, or for three as a drinking snack. Note that you can upgrade the set's bossam to a large (大) size when ordering. There were two of us and we thought about going big, but decided against it — the basic size was already enough haha.

Chives are laid under the bossam meat, making it easy to pick up, and they were warm and soft from the heat.

I wrapped some in the napa cabbage leaves that came as a side dish. I'm writing this post right after eating and I'm already craving it again...

The sweet garlic sauce wasn't overpowering but had this weirdly magnetic pull — I kept reaching for it. Next came the bibim makguksu (spicy buckwheat noodles), which wasn't too sour or too spicy... just right. It had lots of cabbage and lettuce, which I personally loved.

Is the 13,000-won mung bean pancake worth it?

Sindorim Sambaekga's mung bean pancake (nokdu-jijimi) costs ₩13,000. We had it as a palate refresher, and with its super crispy texture and thick body, ₩13,000 felt like good value.

Sambaekga's mung bean pancake has that classic thick, slightly dense but oily, crispy nokdujeon taste, fried up nice and crunchy — total beer-calling flavor... crunch crunch.

Good for gatherings and work dinners? Plus parking

Sindorim Sambaekga has a menu lineup that works well for group meals or work dinners, plus 2-hour parking support. Sindorim Sambaekga has both a menu suited to gatherings and decent taste, so it seems like a spot regulars already know about — but I'm recommending it too.

If you're looking for a Korean restaurant near Sindorim Station, they also have a variety of lunch set menus, so it might be worth a visit.

Near Sindorim Station, with 2 hours of parking support, we ate comfortably and well. Next time I'll have to come back for the kalguksu.
