Sonjeong Bossam, the Sindorim bossam spot, is a 5-minute walk from Sindorim Station exit 1, so it's close to the station, and it sits in the Sindorim food alley that's packed with restaurants and cafés 🤍

Sonjeong Bossam menu, ordering the gabrisal kimchi bossam set (small)

Now let me walk you through the menu. There's a whole range of Korean dishes: spicy algoni (fish roe and milt) kalguksu hot pot, spicy stir-fried algoni, gabrisal kimchi bossam set, hanwoo (Korean beef) bone broth kalguksu, bibim makguksu (spicy cold buckwheat noodles), chive and zucchini pancake, spicy squid salad, sliced octopus (boiled octopus sashimi), seafood kalguksu, algoni cheese fried rice / fried rice, algoni cheese pasta and more 🙊✨

I ordered the signature gabrisal (pork collar cut) kimchi bossam. There were two of us, so we got the small size (₩42,000). When you order the gabrisal kimchi bossam, you pick one of seafood kalguksu or bibim makguksu to come with it, so it's a generous set and the lineup is really nice. I picked the kalguksu! 🤍

Seafood kalguksu arrives first

Ta-da~~~ The seafood kalguksu comes out first 🍜🧡 Doesn't it look super generous,, (❁´▽`❁) 🫶🏻 It comes with seafood like algoni, blue crab and mussels, veggies like green onion and bean sprouts, and the seasoning paste together with the kalguksu (knife-cut noodles)

Side dishes and sauces including napa cabbage kimchi, pickled cucumber and kkakdugi

For basic side dishes and sauces you get napa cabbage kimchi, pickled cucumber, kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), ssamjang (wrap sauce), salted shrimp and mustard sauce ✨ This napa kimchi is spicy, sweet and full of umami ..🤤

Freshly boiled gabrisal bossam (small) — how does it taste?

Next up came the gabrisal bossam (small)!! Delicious just from the visuals,, It's freshly boiled and piping hot, so even the smell is great ෆ It was just the right amount for two to eat their fill, and the chewy, tender gabrisal bossam comes with cabbage leaves, radish kimchi and kimchi stuffing

They say the gabrisal bossam is made with fresh meat prepared that day and boiled in the morning and afternoon, and maybe that's why it was clean with no off smell, and the moist juices and the chewy-yet-tender texture of the gabrisal bossam really stood out 🤍

And with bossam, the kimchi matters as much as the meat, right!! They say they make their kimchi themselves every day here,, Kimchi made fresh day after day, isn't that some serious dedication🥺 It was that fresh and tasty, a perfect match with the bossam ෆ

Seafood kalguksu you cook by the hourglass

And while we were eating the bossam, the seafood and kalguksu noodles went into the seafood kalguksu and it was brought to a rolling boil. The bossam and seafood kalguksu combo, no way I can resist this ~~~

Every table has this mini pink hourglass, and when the kalguksu arrives you put the seafood in first and let it boil, then once you add the noodles you flip the hourglass and eat as soon as the sand runs out, haha. It's a bit of low-key fun, and you don't have to keep tasting to check if it's cooked — so thoughtful ~~🧡 The kalguksu was pleasantly spicy and went so well with the bossam 🤤

And on the way out, they hand you a yogurt each from this retro red basket to knock back in one shot, perfect,, Even the dessert is so perfect, boss!!😋😋🧡

Sonjeong Bossam, the Sindorim bossam spot where the moist gabrisal bossam and seafood kalguksu were so good! Besides the seafood kalguksu and the bossam set, there are plenty of affordable single-serving dishes too, so for office workers around Sindorim, I highly recommend Sonjeong Bossam Sindorim Branch for lunch, dinner and team dinners ˚ෆ*₊
