A market tour after a long while! I visited Moraenae Market in Incheon. Whenever I go to a market, sushi comes to mind too haha — and today's takeout is exactly that: sushi from Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang :)

Where do you park at Moraenae Market?

Since Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang is inside the market, you'll need to use a nearby public parking lot. You can use the Moraenae Market public parking lot near Exit 3 of Moraenae Market Station, or the Mansu Bokgae public parking lot about 400 meters below the market.

Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang Moraenae Market Branch, a takeout-only sushi shop serious about its sushi, has a really wide variety of sushi types. The prices are kind too, and the value is very good.

Let's take a look at the sushi! There were many kinds of sashimi sushi — tuna, flatfish, aged kimchi flatfish, salmon, engawa and more. There were also many types of shrimp sushi like raw shrimp, vinegared shrimp, and garlic shrimp. There's also Moraenae sushi, a mixed platter where you can try several kinds, and the premium omakase sushi line! There was even futomaki (thick seaweed rice roll) + _ +

I picked something else today, but apparently the mixed salmon sushi is the best-selling menu these days! If you love salmon, I highly recommend the mixed salmon sushi!!

They also have solo sashimi and solo mulhoe (cold raw fish soup), which is perfect for drinking alone at home!! So many people drink solo these days. A full sashimi platter can be pricey and too much to finish, but being able to enjoy sashimi in a single-portion size was really nice :)

How is the insulated cold-bag takeout packed?

When you buy sushi or sashimi at Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang Moraenae Market Branch, they pack it with an ice pack in an insulated bag, so you can carry it home safely even in summer.

As I mentioned, it was packed in a cold bag. Since the packaging is an insulated shopping bag, it's also great for gifting sushi, and I could bring it home safely and neatly.

Omakase sushi, soy sauce shrimp sushi, egg sushi

The omakase sushi, egg sushi and soy sauce shrimp sushi I ordered, along with the soup, soy sauce and pickled ginger, were all packed neatly.

The soy sauce, pickled ginger and soup were also individually packaged, so there was no hassle eating outside. The soup is done just by pouring in hot water, which was really convenient.

What comes in the 11-piece omakase sushi set?

I got the omakase sushi because I wanted to try a variety of sushi at once!! The visuals alone were on another level, and the composition was seriously insane.

True to its name, the omakase sushi is packed with various pieces from the premium line.

The omakase sushi set consists of flatfish x2, salmon, seared salmon, tuna x2, soy sauce shrimp, eel, raw shrimp, salmon roe gunkan (battleship roll), and sea urchin gunkan — 11 pieces in total.

Tuna, eel, sea urchin, salmon roe — all the sushi that lives up to its name is gathered here, and this really wasn't called omakase for nothing...!

I understood why the owner said the salmon sushi sells well and is the recommended menu. The salmon sushi was the tastiest haha. The shari (sushi rice) portion was just right too, easy to eat, and the sashimi was fresh, which I liked.

The 6-piece soy sauce shrimp sushi

Soy sauce shrimp is something I love >< Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang's soy sauce shrimp sushi comes with 6 pieces total, and the shrimp were really big.

With most shrimp sushi, you usually leave the tail, but this one I could eat entirely in one bite without wasting anything, which was so convenient and nice. The soy sauce seasoning was just right too, not too salty!

How does the egg sushi (tamago) taste?

The egg sushi (tamago) has soft, sweetish egg piled thick on top, with a moist, fluffy texture as its signature feature.

It was so soft it seemed to melt in my mouth, making it easy to eat without feeling heavy. With its thick, fluffy texture and the egg's nutty, gently sweet flavor, it's a menu item that anyone from kids to adults can enjoy :)

The soy sauce also comes packed as a set with a disposable dish, so it's super convenient for people eating takeout outside rather than at home.
