I was on the hunt for a good barbecue spot and ended up at Chodaechang, a well-known place near Baekseok Station! This time I ordered properly — 2 servings of gopchang, 1 serving of daechang, and even yang fried rice to finish it off! If you're looking for good barbecue near Baekseok Station or anywhere in Ilsan, this is worth a visit~!

How to walk to Chodaechang Baekseok Branch from Baekseok Station, and parking

From Exit 6 of Baekseok Station (Line 3), walk straight for about 100m, keep going past Jeonggaok, and you'll find it on the right! There's a tall signboard advertising good beef intestine, so it wasn't hard to find at all~

Parking was such a relief! Even the best restaurant can be stressful if you're driving and can't find a spot, but here parking was available, which made the visit so much easier!

Is Chodaechang Baekseok Branch good for a group dinner?

The inside was spacious and kept clean~! I thought it would work well for a company dinner or gathering. It felt like a good setup for grilling with a big group of coworkers or friends, and also nice for a family visit~

Plenty of side dishes too!

And they light the fire for you~ For special occasions, they said you can rent out the space and use the restaurant's atmosphere for a private booking, so that's good to keep in mind!

Ordering 2 servings of gopchang and 1 serving of daechang

What we ordered that day at Chodaechang Baekseok Branch was 2 servings of gopchang, 1 serving of daechang, and yang fried rice. Coming to a beef intestine place, you've got to properly eat the gopchang and daechang!!

We laid the gopchang and daechang on the tabletop pan and started grilling them golden-brown, and the smell was amazing from the moment they hit the pan~!

How did the gopchang and daechang taste?

The gopchang and daechang were the best part of the meal, as expected! Eating them piece by piece off the grill, savory and rich, made me want a drink, but they were also filling enough to count as a proper meal!

The gopchang was packed with fat inside, and it had no off smell at all — delicious!

The daechang, eaten with the vegetables, cut through the richness nicely~!

Yang fried rice to finish the meal

Once you've had your fill of meat, you can't skip the fried rice!! We finished up by ordering the yang (beef tripe) fried rice!

Finishing off the gopchang and daechang with fried rice was so satisfying~! It really rounds out the meal in a way that just eating meat doesn't~~ After 2 servings of gopchang, 1 serving of daechang, and the fried rice, I was pretty full~
