Haeundae restaurant sharing three pastas with friends: Bueokgan
In short
Bueokgan Haeundae Branch is a 100-pyeong (about 330㎡) Western and pasta restaurant on the second floor of a standalone building on Dalmaji-gil in Haeundae, Busan. With friends, the writer ordered shrimp anchovy oil pasta (18,000 won), carbonara (19,000 won) and seafood tomato clay-pot pasta (19,000 won) at once to share all three. The roomy European-style hall made Bueokgan Haeundae Branch a satisfying place to taste three very different pastas in one sitting.

I visited Bueokgan Haeundae Branch, located on Dalmaji-gil in Haeundae, Busan. While looking for a place to eat with friends near Dalmaji-gil, the spacious layout and European-style interior caught my eye, so we stopped in. It turned out to be a satisfying Haeundae pasta restaurant where you could enjoy three very different pastas in a wide, stylish space.
Where is Bueokgan Haeundae Branch and how do you get there?
Bueokgan Haeundae Branch is on the second floor of a standalone building you reach by heading up the hill along Dongbaek Elementary School. It's about 1km from Jangsan Station, so driving is a bit more convenient than public transit.
Being on Dalmaji-gil, it's easy to combine a meal here with a stroll around Haeundae Beach or the Mipo area before or after eating. The beautiful scenery Dalmaji-gil is known for made both the location and the view very satisfying.

There's a private lot behind the building. It's not very large — at the time of my visit it looked like it could fit only about 4 to 5 cars. But there's an elevator connected directly from the lot, so it's easy to get to the restaurant even with luggage or kids in tow.

Bueokgan is on the second floor of the building, with Bueokgan Chinese and Cafe de Bueok also operating on the floor below. You could easily follow a meal here with coffee in the same building.

What does the 100-pyeong dining hall feel like?
Even before stepping inside, the simple yet upscale entrance caught my attention. Passing through the elegant door, a calm but warm space opened up, and I liked it from the first impression.

Above all, thanks to the roughly 100-pyeong size, the space felt wide and the seats were relatively well spaced. Deep green tones mixed with wood, and natural light poured in through the large windows, giving off an atmosphere reminiscent of a European restaurant.

Bueokgan's philosophy of valuing not just good food but the atmosphere and the time you spend there came through naturally throughout the space. The lighting, framed art, and furniture all fit together nicely, and there were plenty of spots good for photos. It felt calm and comfortable, making it a good place to chat and eat with friends at a relaxed pace.
Bueokgan Haeundae Branch menu and what the three pastas cost
The menu features a wide range of Western dishes, including pastas and pizzas. We ordered shrimp anchovy oil pasta, carbonara, and seafood tomato clay-pot pasta.
Besides the usual familiar dishes, there were slightly unusual options too, like anchovy pasta and authentic Italian-style carbonara, which made choosing more fun.

What comes with the basic table setting
After ordering, I looked over the tableware and table setting, which were arranged neatly in a way that matched the atmosphere of the restaurant.

There was even a basket-style chair for setting down belongings comfortably, which showed a thoughtful attention to guests.

When the three pastas we ordered were laid out together, their different colors and visuals made everything look even more appetizing. Ordering an oil, a carbonara, and a tomato pasta made for good variety to share with friends.

Comparing the three plates of pasta
Shrimp anchovy oil pasta, 18,000 won
The first dish we tried was the shrimp anchovy oil pasta.

When I first heard 'anchovy,' I worried it might have a strong or fishy taste, but once I tried it, there was almost no fishiness at all — it added a subtle umami depth to the oil sauce, and was much tastier than I expected.
It started off tasting light, then the distinctive umami of the anchovy spread through gradually. It had a different charm from typical oil pastas, and it was the dish that stuck with me most from that day's order.
The noodles were thinner than usual pasta, which gave it a nice texture, and they were cooked just right, blending well with the sauce. The shrimp in particular were plump and springy, giving a burst of freshness with every bite. Despite being an oil pasta, it wasn't overly greasy, so I could eat it cleanly all the way through.
Italian-style carbonara, 19,000 won
Next was the carbonara. Bueokgan's carbonara wasn't the usual cream-sauce-heavy pasta — it was the authentic Italian style, where you break a poached egg over it and toss it together with bacon and noodles.

Mixing the poached egg evenly through added a rich, savory flavor to the noodles, which paired well with the salty richness of the bacon. Unlike a cream pasta, it wasn't heavy or overly greasy — it was fairly light, so I could eat it without feeling weighed down.
Seafood tomato clay-pot pasta, 19,000 won
Last was the seafood tomato clay-pot pasta.

Tomato pasta usually isn't my first pick, but I really enjoyed this dish. Served in a warm clay pot, it stayed hot until the very end, and it was hearty with plenty of seafood like shrimp and clams.
The tomato sauce, too, had a rich, concentrated flavor rather than a light one, layered with the umami of the seafood for great overall flavor. I'd recommend this one even to people who don't usually go for tomato pasta.
What sets Bueokgan Haeundae Branch apart
What impressed me most about Bueokgan Haeundae Branch was being able to enjoy the food and the space together.
It wasn't just a place to eat and leave right away — it was a space suited to lingering, chatting with people in a calm, comfortable atmosphere. The European-style interior, large windows, and relaxed seating arrangement made it well suited for special occasions too.
Because the restaurant is such a large, roughly 100-pyeong space, it felt like it could work for everything from a small date to a family meal to a friends' gathering or group dinner — another point in its favor, I thought.
What I liked most
- First, the three pastas were clearly distinct in flavor and character.
- Second, the ingredients were fresh, especially the plump shrimp and variety of seafood.
- Third, the spacious, calm dining room made for a comfortable meal.
- Fourth, the staff were friendly, and small touches like the basket chairs for belongings showed thoughtful service.
- Fifth, being on Dalmaji-gil made it easy to explore Mipo or Haeundae before or after the meal.

Extra things worth knowing
Restrooms are gender-separated, and high chairs and group seating are available, so families can visit comfortably. Wi-Fi and reservations are available, and group seating reportedly accommodates 4 to 100 people.
Overall verdict on Bueokgan Haeundae Branch
What I liked most about this place was getting to try unusual pastas in a wide, pretty space.

Between the atmosphere, the food, and the staff's service, it was an all-around pleasant experience, and I'd like to try other menu items next time. If you're looking for a Haeundae pasta restaurant where you can eat at a relaxed pace on Dalmaji-gil, give Bueokgan Haeundae Branch a try.
