I visited Chibao at Starfield Anseong with my kid on a weekday evening. We ordered a set that included jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles), fried rice, and tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), and it turned out to be a really satisfying meal. The value for money was excellent — the smoky jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) broth plus the generous fried rice portion made for a very satisfying meal, and being able to get tangsuyuk too at that price was fantastic.

From the very first sip, the smoky wok-hei flavor hit hard — you could taste that distinctive character from being stir-fried over high heat in a wok. I've been to some genuinely famous jjamppong spots in Gangneung, and honestly this broth held its own against even the so-called 'top 3 jjamppong' places. The chunjang (black bean) sauce wasn't overly sweet and had a nice savory depth, making for a comfortable, non-spicy flavor. It was gentle enough for my child to enjoy without any issue, making it a great dish for the whole family.

The tangsuyuk included in the set was another highlight. The batter was crispy outside and soft inside, paired well with a sweet and tangy sauce. Along with the jjajangmyeon and fried rice, it made for a really filling spread. My kid especially loved the sauce — its thick sweetness made it easy for her to naturally eat the meat too.
