I was born with a tendency to carry weight in my lower body..! Lately, I’ve been running hard to reduce leg swelling. But it felt like running was making my legs even puffier, so while looking into lower-body massages, I found The Foot Shop Massage Taereungipgu Station Branch (더풋샵마사지 태릉입구역점) near Taereungipgu! It was such a satisfying massage shop that loosened everything from my feet to my legs, so let me introduce it.

Member and regular prices, plus membership options

The Foot Shop Massage separates reservations for membership members and regular customers. If you follow them on Naver, they offer a 10% discount coupon, so I recommend trying it with the discount first. If you like it, you could join as a member and get treatments regularly! Honestly, reducing swelling with massages like these is not something that happens after just one or two sessions ㅠㅠ It needs consistent care!

Their passes also include multi-person options, so you can go with family, friends, or your partner! It could be nice to sign up with your mom as a thoughtful treat, or with your boyfriend at the discounted membership price.

The prices are generally quite affordable, and there is definitely a difference between the regular and member prices.

Since it’s The Foot Shop, I assumed they would only have leg and foot massages, but they also offer body treatments. And the packages are clearly better value, so next time I really want to get a full-body treatment.

One especially nice thing is that they even offer couple treatments! I’d love to come for a massage together and enjoy a cozy, relaxing, slightly different kind of date.

The Foot Shop Plus Care and review event

If you want a little more during your massage, you can add Plus Care at an affordable price. Aren’t the prices so good? If you join the review event, the first-place prize is even a gift certificate worth nearly ₩100,000, so everyone should definitely take part!

The exterior and foot-bath area atmosphere

The exterior looks like a healing spot at a glance! I really love that lush, warm-looking atmosphere that massage shops have.

Foot-bath area with windows

Inside, the foot-bath area appears right away. The large windows make it perfect for enjoying a foot bath on a beautiful day like these, you know? The soft music playing in the background was lovely for a change of mood, too.

View outside the foot-bath area window

Maybe because the weather was so nice outside, the view looked even more picture-perfect~ They had tea and snacks ready to enjoy during your foot bath.

I also spotted that The Foot Shop had launched a new magnesium treatment. I recommend it for people with severe leg swelling, those who dislike sticky body lotions or oils, or anyone who wants to absorb magnesium directly through the body.

They also sell products separately at the massage shop.

Preparing for Lower-Body Focused Foot Care 60

Before my massage, I went into the women’s changing room and changed clothes.

Amenities provided in the changing room

They had a wide range of changing-clothes sizes up to XXL, so there was plenty to choose from. What I loved most about The Foot Shop was how they had thoughtfully prepared everything you might need, including cotton swabs, hair ties, a hair dryer, and a comb!

There is also a shower room, which is convenient if you have something urgent afterward and want to shower before you go! But... they said the effects last longer if the oil remains on your skin, so I recommend not washing it off.. haha. The clothes were a little like jjimjilbang (Korean sauna) outfits.

Warm-water foot bath with tea and snacks

While I was soaking my feet in warm water, they brought me tea and snacks. Drinking tea during the foot bath made me feel like such a leisurely modern woman. As I soaked, my massage therapist came over and guided me straight to the treatment room!

Massage room with a disposable face sheet

From post-run tight ankles to thighs

When I entered the treatment room, there was a donut-shaped pillow and even a disposable face sheet ready, which made me feel that cleanliness was carefully managed in these details, too. I had a lower-body massage that day, and they thoroughly loosened my leg muscles with tools! Since I run often, my leg muscles tend to get quite hard and tight, but after the massage, my muscular legs definitely felt a little softer.

My legs are not the only thing that swells when I run—my ankles and feet do, too—so I really loved how they refreshed everything from my ankles to the soles of my feet! I usually feel heavy and achy in my legs after running, but that day, having everything loosened from my feet through my calves and thighs made my legs feel noticeably lighter haha. And even my glutes, which I hadn’t expected.. I got a proper lower-body treatment.

At the end, they gently loosened my shoulders and scalp too, and it felt surprisingly amazing... hahaha. I came in expecting only a lower-body treatment, but after that finishing touch, I thought I absolutely had to try a full-body treatment next time... Of course, leg swelling does not disappear completely after only one or two massages, so for people like me who run or exercise often and whose legs swell and tighten easily, regular care could be a good idea! Especially before a wedding or an important event, rather than rushing in for one treatment a day or two before, it seemed better to join the membership and care for yourself consistently in advance.

Wrapping up a visit to The Foot Shop Taereungipgu Station Branch

The Foot Shop Massage Taereungipgu Station Branch was somewhere I stopped by while wondering where to go around Taereungipgu! From the foot bath to the lower-body massage and brief scalp and shoulder massage, everything was so comfortable and satisfying. People who run or exercise often can build up fatigue in their leg muscles, ankles, and feet, and getting care like this now and then feels so refreshingly relieving—I’d recommend it to anyone like me whose legs feel heavy after exercise!

They also have a variety of memberships and packages, so it seems good both for regular solo care and for visiting with friends, a partner, or family. It is within walking distance of Taereungipgu Station, so if you are looking for an accessible massage shop, it could be worth a visit. Next time, I really have to get a full-body massage and properly melt into relaxation~~
