When I’m craving something spicy, jjukkumi (spicy webfoot octopus) is one of the dishes that always comes to mind!

This time, I visited Jeongipum Jjukkumi Gwangmyeong 1st Branch, a spot famous for jjukkumi in Gwangmyeong. ~
A clean jjukkumi restaurant near Gwangmyeong Station
I stopped by while looking for somewhere to eat near Gwangmyeong Station, and the restaurant was clean and the staff were so kind. I was happy not just with the food, but with the whole atmosphere.
Jeongipum Jjukkumi Gwangmyeong 1st Branch is at Unit 161, 1F, 19 Yangji-ro, Gwangmyeong-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea (경기도 광명시 양지로 19 1층 161호). It is fairly close to Gwangmyeong Station, so it is in a good location for anyone looking for a meal nearby.
The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how clean it was! When I think of a jjukkumi restaurant, I somehow expect it to be a little hectic or for the smell to really cling to my clothes, but this place was clean and orderly throughout, which I loved.
Above all, the staff were truly kind. They explained things comfortably while we ordered and seemed to pay attention to every detail as the food came out, so we could enjoy our meal in a good mood.

Two-person tabletop jjukkumi with plenty of add-ins
We ordered the signature two-person tabletop jjukkumi with plenty of add-ins!

It was not just jjukkumi—the table was loaded with all sorts of add-ins and ingredients, so it looked generous, too.

One of Jeongipum Jjukkumi’s signature dishes, tabletop jjukkumi with plenty of add-ins, lets you enjoy the octopus with a generous variety of ingredients.

There was also quite a variety of banchan (Korean side dishes), which you simply cannot leave out with jjukkumi. There were sides that paired nicely with it, so it was fun trying different combinations.
In particular, perilla leaves, seaweed, and flying-fish roe were set out so we could enjoy the jjukkumi in several different ways.
Steamed egg came with the meal, too! It was fluffy and soft, making it perfect to have in between bites of spicy jjukkumi.

Tabletop jjukkumi in perilla leaf, seaweed, and roe wraps
Once we really got into the tabletop jjukkumi, I found the octopus chewy in a good way and nicely infused with the seasoning.

The spicy seasoning went so well with the springy texture of the jjukkumi, and eating it with the add-ins definitely made the meal feel even more substantial!

Personally, my favorite combination was perilla leaf + seaweed + jjukkumi + flying-fish roe.

Put seaweed on a perilla leaf, then add jjukkumi and flying-fish roe and eat it in one bite—it is nutty and spicy, with the little popping texture of the roe added in. So delicious!

Rather than eating only the jjukkumi, making wraps like this kept me reaching for more. 😋

Udon noodles followed by fried rice
We also added udon noodles.
Once the udon noodles went into the jjukkumi sauce, they really soaked up the flavor, making them a special treat too! After eating some of the jjukkumi and then adding the noodles, we were getting fuller and fuller. But of course, it did not end there.
When you come to a jjukkumi restaurant, fried rice is the only right ending!
We had fried rice with the remaining sauce on the tabletop griddle, and it really was the perfect finish!

The jjukkumi sauce itself was so tasty that there was no way the fried rice could be anything but delicious, haha.
Jeongipum Jjukkumi offers free fried rice through its review event, which made it even better! If you visit, I think it would be good to check out the review event, too.
After jjukkumi, udon noodles, and finally fried rice, the two of us were seriously full.

A spicy meal after shopping at Gwangmyeong IKEA
Overall, I was happy with the food, but I especially loved the kind service and the clean atmosphere!

It seems like a nice place to visit if you are looking for somewhere to eat near Gwangmyeong Station, or if you want something spicy after shopping near Gwangmyeong IKEA.

Especially if you love jjukkumi!! I recommend trying it in this order: jjukkumi → wraps → udon noodles → fried rice. 😂

The restaurant was clean, the food was plentiful, and the staff were kind, so we left after an all-around pleasant meal! If you are looking for a good restaurant near Gwangmyeong Station or for great jjukkumi in Gwangmyeong, Jeongipum Jjukkumi is worth a visit. Next time, I want to try it with a different combination of add-ins. ❤️
