On a day with a beautiful autumn sky, I visited AK Plaza Food Street near Gwangmyeong IKEA. I went to this popular Gwangmyeong jjukkumi spot, which apparently expanded and reopened because the food was good and it had so many customers. Jeongipum Jjukkumi Gwangmyeong 1st Branch.

Jeongipum Jjukkumi Gwangmyeong 1st Branch: location and directions

Jeongipum Jjukkumi Gwangmyeong 1st Branch is on the first floor of AK Plaza Street, near Gwangmyeong IKEA and Gwangmyeong Costco. It is 589 m on foot from Exit 3 of Gwangmyeong Station, so it is easy to get to.

Route from Gwangmyeong Station to the restaurant

You can cross the street and browse Food Street as you go, or it is even easier to find through the side door next to the parking-lot entrance and exit.

Jeongipum Jjukkumi Gwangmyeong 1st Branch apparently expanded and reopened only two years after opening. It is not an ordinary chain; the owner learned directly from and developed the recipes of the main branch run by the owner's maternal uncle. I like places where the owner has clear convictions and a point of view, and this place! It feels exactly like that.

They offer two hours of free parking. After that, it is ₩2,000 per 10 minutes, up to ₩30,000.

Parking tip! Park near the brightly lit EV charging station on Basement Level 4, then take the Core 5 elevator for a quick visit.

Orange interior and seating for gatherings

Outdoor waiting bench at the restaurant

You can see the brand color clearly from the waiting bench outside, right? The bright orange whets your appetite and suits jjukkumi perfectly ^^

Partitioned tables and storage chairs

There are partitioned tables for four, so you can dine privately, and it seems suitable for groups or family gatherings from two to ten people. There is storage beneath these cute orange chairs. Let's tuck everything away properly so chili powder does not splatter and smells do not cling.

It looks complicated, but you simply choose a jjukkumi main and then add noodles or sides. It is one menu per person, and there is a children's menu too.

Ordering Cheolpan Jjukkumi with Plenty of Add-ons

You order from the tablet at your table. I reserved a time and menu in advance. I ordered their signature Cheolpan Jjukkumi + Plenty of Add-ons. It comes with jjukkumi, black pork flower-cut samgyeopsal (pork belly), minari (water parsley), cabbage, and rice cakes.

This was my table—the setting was already in place. Wow.

Table setting prepared in advance

They had prepared not only the menu and table setting, but even my name. It was such a mood-lifting first impression. I was touched by the consideration for customers 🥰

Tablet restroom and parking information

The tablet continuously shows restroom and parking information. So thoughtful, as expected 👍

Cheolpan jjukkumi cooked by the staff

Cheolpan jjukkumi before cooking

Now it just needed to bubble away. A kind staff member cooked everything for us. They told us to wait until the minari wilted. My heart was racing.

While waiting, I looked over the table spread. The house-made lemon shredded radish, flying-fish roe, and white sauce stood out. A complimentary gyeran-jjim (steamed egg) arrived too. I am sad I did not photograph it when it was bubbling up beautifully. But it was incredibly good—

Neatly arranged utensils, a tissue drawer, and thoughtful wet wipes.

Hold on, let me show you a few GIFs of the jjukkumi cooking. Before cooking, the staff member kindly told us to step a little away from the table because the sauce might splatter.

The jjukkumi is cooked now. Once the pork is fully cooked in another one to two minutes, you can eat. There are also instructions for how to eat it on the tablet, so please refer to those.

Hahaha. It looks delicious, right? Does it not already taste delicious with your eyes?

Cooked cheolpan jjukkumi

Time to eat—the harmony of minari, lemon shredded radish, and perilla leaf is something you have to pick up and try for yourself... The flying-fish roe and white sauce soften the heat while adding nuttiness too.

Originality. Just jjukkumi with minari on top.

The jjukkumi is springy and brings out a sweetness. It is tender and fresh. The black pork has absolutely no off smell, and paired with the jjukkumi, it is a dream match.

How to finish with fried rice

It is not over yet. We are people who know to fry rice. Two portions of fried rice, of course.

Place the gim (roasted seaweed) at the edge of the griddle and toast it, then eat it together—it is even better.

The owner and staff here definitely know good food.

Ah. I am getting hungry. Haha.

My honest take on Jeongipum Jjukkumi

It is excellent for convenience. It really is a great restaurant near Gwangmyeong IKEA and Gwangmyeong Costco. It is close to Gwangmyeong Station too, so access is great. 500 m. Since it is in AK Plaza, parking is convenient as well. Two hours free. The restaurant is clean after its expansion and relocation, and the interior is lovely.

You can tell they use good ingredients. They say they use only top-quality domestic ingredients: sora-bang jjukkumi, premium black pork raised on chestnuts, HACCP-certified eggs brought in every dawn, and minari sourced directly from farms every dawn.

The owner's philosophy is wonderful. They believe taste is a given and attitude is philosophy. The staff were so gracious that I felt respected. And it is delicious!

Final griddle dish after the meal

Another great meal today! Let's eat 😋
