Family lunch with a baby near Daejeon World Cup Stadium: Gatjidong

With the weather getting cooler these days, it feels like we've been going out with our baby a lot more often. When we eat out with a little one, I end up carefully checking not just the menu but also whether the place is comfortable to eat in. This time we went out for a meal with my parents too, the whole family together, and I was really satisfied because everyone from the baby to the adults enjoyed it :)

Near Daejeon World Cup Stadium, and where to park

With a yellow sign that catches your eye from far away, this is Gatjidong Noeun Branch, a restaurant near Daejeon World Cup Stadium.

There's a parking space right in front of the restaurant, which made getting around with the baby much easier.

Easy ordering and a wide range of menu items

Walking inside, the whole space was bright and clean, so the first impression was great.

Each table had a tablet installed, so we could sit down, take our time looking through the menu, and order right at the table.

From pork cutlets to gyudon (Japanese-style beef rice bowl) to pasta, the menu really had a lot of variety. With three adults and one baby, we each picked what we wanted and ordered generously.

What we actually ordered and tasted

Whole pollack roe cream pasta — ₩12,800

The first thing that caught our eye was the whole pollack roe cream pasta, which looked delicious from the start.

At ₩12,800, it came piled with whole pollack roe, giving it a great pop-in-your-mouth texture. The cream sauce and roe worked together for a savory yet salty flavor that kept us reaching for more.

Pork cutlet hamburger steak set

The pork cutlet hamburger steak set we ordered to share with the baby also came out with a hearty spread.

The meat was thick but stayed moist inside, making it good for the baby to eat too. With plenty of sauce on top, it had that classic gyeongyangsik style — familiar and comforting :)

Spicy onion pork cutlet

The spicy onion pork cutlet was a crispy fried cutlet topped generously with a sweet-and-spicy onion sauce. The onion's subtle sweetness combined with the slight kick of the sauce cut through the richness of the cutlet, making it easy to keep eating.

The parts soaked in sauce were moist while the edges stayed crispy, so we got to enjoy two textures at once :) Paired with the cabbage salad and rice that came alongside, the spiciness mellowed out nicely, and we finished it happily to the last bite.

Gyudon

The gyudon came loaded with meat, and the seasoning wasn't too salty or too sweet — just right, which made it delicious. Paired with rice, the tender meat made for a filling meal :) Being able to enjoy pork cutlets, gyudon and pasta — both Japanese and Western style — all in one place also felt like a real strength of this restaurant.

Why it was a great spot to visit with a baby

Since we were visiting with a baby, we paid close attention not just to the food but also the facilities and services. There was a well-stocked self-serve bar to use alongside the meal.

Warm cream soup, jangguk (a clear Korean soup), and white rice were all available, so we could help ourselves to as much as we needed :)

What I especially liked about visiting with a baby was the service for babies.

When you come with a baby, they give you a free furikake (Japanese seasoned rice topping) rice bowl, along with baby dishware and vitamins.

A baby chair was also available, so even our 19-month-old could sit comfortably and eat.

The soup we got from the self-serve bar was smooth and savory, perfect to have before the meal. Being able to help ourselves to as much soup and jangguk as we wanted meant my parents could enjoy something warm alongside too.

When we put the free furikake rice into the baby dishware, our baby ate it really well :) Not having to worry separately about what the baby would eat was something I especially appreciated as a parent.

A prize draw to enjoy after the meal

On the way out after paying, there was also a small fun event set up. Apparently if you write a review on Naver or Kakao, you get one chance at a classic-style prize draw.

Since there are no losing tickets, it seemed like it would be fun to try with the baby too :) With so many delicious menu options and services for babies, all of us — parents and baby included — were able to finish our meal comfortably.

If you're someone who pays close attention to both menu choices and facilities when eating out with a baby, this place seems worth a visit. With plenty of options like pork cutlets, pasta, and gyudon, it's also worth keeping in mind when looking for a family restaurant to visit with both parents and kids :) I hope this review is a small help to anyone looking for a good restaurant near Daejeon World Cup Stadium.
