I had errands nearby, then stopped by this Yangjae-dong café and dessert spot, Mini Male Coffee Roaster Juam Branch (미니말레 커피뢰스터 주암점), with my younger sibling and niece/nephew.

Free parking and weekday hours

I found it while looking for somewhere with free parking since I was driving. There was room for about four cars for free, and there were open spots when I visited on a weekday afternoon, so parking was easy.

It is closed on weekends and open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. It had that neighborhood-favorite vibe, with lots of nearby residents and office workers dropping in.

What are the floor-to-ceiling windows and open kitchen like?

Inside, it was not huge, but the modern interior was the standout, and everything was kept very tidy. The two owners were sooo kind, too!

The floor-to-ceiling windows made it feel open, and the leafy tree view kept it from feeling cramped. It would be nice for a quick break, conversation, or a little work.

Since it has an open kitchen, it was fun to see the making process, and it also felt clean. Delivery orders kept coming in, and plenty of takeaway customers came and went too.

How do you choose the beans and drinks?

There are many coffees, milk teas, and other drinks. For coffee, you can choose nutty Dunkel beans, bright and acidic Balance beans, or decaf. Drinks also come in regular, large, and venti sizes.

We ordered the signature Helsinki latte with Balance beans and an iced Americano with Dunkel beans, both in large.

Ordering desserts at 2 p.m.

It is also known as a Yangjae-dong bakery café, with loads of tasty desserts, but when we arrived around 2 p.m., many items were already sold out 🥹 There were still a few scones and cookies, though, so we ordered a scone, a matcha chocolate-chip Levain cookie, and a New York peanut butter + strawberry jam cookie (PB&J) too,,!

They also sell coffee beans and Dutch coffee, so it seems like a good spot for anyone wanting to buy beans or Dutch coffee.

Once we were seated, they warmed up the desserts we ordered and brought them with the drinks. A table full of desserts—this made me sooo happy 🤍

Matcha Levain and PB&J cookie flavors

Matcha chocolate-chip Levain cookie

This menu item adds deep, rich premium Jeju matcha to the classic texture of a New York Levain cookie. They say the generous dark chocolate chips and walnuts create an ultimate balance, and after one bite, I could really taste how nicely the intense matcha and sweet chocolate chips worked together. Perfect with coffee!

New York peanut butter + strawberry jam cookie (PB&J)

The real taste of America. This popular cookie from a New York hotspot combines a nutty peanut butter cookie, tangy-sweet Andros strawberry jam, and crisp crumble. Every dessert was delicious, so happy,, They really know desserts here,,

Plain scone

A traditional British-style scone that is crisp outside and moist inside, with the rich flavor of soft fresh cream. The nutty butter and subtle creaminess come together beautifully.

They thoughtfully set out wet wipes, tissues, knives, and forks, so we could eat comfortably.

Signature Helsinki latte

A life-changing latte discovered in Helsinki, with wonderfully smooth flavor and no bitterness. It was sweet, but not overly sweet like a vanilla latte—just the right amount, with a slight condensed-milk-like feel? Nutty and sweet. I enjoyed this one so much; there is a reason it is the signature latte.

Dunkel bean dark iced Americano

I loved its nutty, pleasantly bitter taste,, Customers kept coming and going the whole time, and it made me feel that popular places really do have a reason for being popular -
