In short
Comedor16 (꼬메도르16) is a Spanish restaurant in a quiet alley in Yangjae-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul. I visited for a wedding invitation gathering and tried pulpo, squid ink paella, and sirloin cream mafaldine. The relaxed tables and warm lighting made conversation easy, and the tender octopus and textured paella stood out.

I visited Comedor16 (꼬메도르16) for a wedding invitation gathering ahead of my wedding. It is a restaurant near Samho Mulsan, and it was somewhere I had wanted to try in the neighborhood.

Where is Comedor16?
The address is 40-10 Dongsan-ro 19-gil, unit 101, Seocho-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It is tucked into a quiet, uncrowded alley, so you might wander a little at first, but it is fairly close to the main road, and I did not find it difficult to locate.

The menu was also available to check outside, which made it useful to look things over before going in.

Was it easy to talk during a wedding invitation gathering?
As soon as I stepped inside, I noticed the cozy yellow lighting. The gentle, calm atmosphere made it comfortable to sit and stay awhile.

The tables were spaced generously, so it was easy to talk without feeling interrupted. I also remember the interior decorations and the neatly arranged table settings. It felt suited to a gathering centered on conversation, like this one, or a celebratory meal.

What did we order for the gathering?
The menu had a range of Spanish dishes. After considering what to choose, we ordered three dishes, focusing on the recommended items: pulpo (octopus), squid ink paella, and sirloin cream mafaldine.

Was the pulpo octopus tough?
The first dish to arrive, pulpo, was made with a whole grilled octopus leg. It was soft from the moment I cut it with a knife, and the inside was moist without feeling tough when I ate it.

The savory potatoes and oil sauce served alongside it went well with the octopus. The tender texture and rich umami flavor made it memorable.

What were the flavor and texture of the squid ink paella?
The second dish, squid ink paella, had an impressive deep color and a pronounced sea-like aroma from the squid ink. Each grain of rice retained its bite, bringing back memories of paella I had eaten in Spain before.

What kind of pasta was the sirloin cream mafaldine?
Mafaldine has wavy, ruffled edges. Cream sauce collected in those curves, so the noodles tasted rich even on their own. The sirloin on top was thick but tender.

What goes well with a meal here?
The surrounding residential alleys were quiet and pleasant for walking. After the meal, you could continue with a leisurely walk along the Yangjaecheon walking path.
The dishes we had seemed like they would pair well with wine or a cold drink. I remember the food, the atmosphere that made conversation easy, and the friendly service, and I would like to return for a gathering with friends.
