Sunday lunch kongguksu with free parking in Sangam: Sangam Hoegwan

In short

Sangam Hoegwan is a kongguksu (chilled soy milk noodle soup) restaurant in the food court on basement level 1 of Sangam IT Tower in Mapo, Seoul. On a Sunday lunch visit, three of us ordered the kongguksu mandu set, the pumpkin kongguksu mandu set, a plain kongguksu and a kimchi pancake, and Sangam Hoegwan was the only shop in the food court still open that day. Free parking in the building's basement lot and free noodle refills make Sangam Hoegwan an easy weekend lunch stop.

I had weekend lunch at Sangam Hoegwan, a Sangam kongguksu (cold soy milk noodle soup) restaurant! This place is open Saturdays and Sundays too, and there's free parking in the building's basement lot, so it's super convenient for a weekend lunch. Beyond the basic kongguksu, the pumpkin kongguksu, kimchi pancake and king mandu (dumplings) were all amazing too — highly recommend it if you're looking for a good lunch spot in Sangam-dong!!✨️

Where is Sangam Hoegwan? Sangam IT Tower food court, open on Sundays

Entrance to Sangam Hoegwan inside the food court

Sangam Hoegwan, this Sangam kongguksu favorite, is located in the food court on basement level 1 of Sangam IT Tower. You'll find it if you head toward the back of the food court. We visited on a Sunday, and while every other shop was closed, this one was open! Seeing so many customers on a Sunday made me think — this really is a beloved Sangam restaurant.

Large seating tables in the food court

Being a food court, there were plenty of large tables to eat comfortably at.

Sangam Hoegwan apparently ran out of Savoy City in Sangam-dong since 2019 before moving to Sangam IT Tower in 2025. A friend who works in Sangam-dong told me Sangam Hoegwan is a well-known kongguksu spot among office workers there!😍

Sangam Hoegwan menu and how to order: kiosk ordering and free noodle refills

Ordering is done at the kiosk (you can register your car parking on the tablet right next to the kiosk!)

There were plenty of great dishes: kongguksu, bibim noodles, perilla oil milmyeon, pumpkin kongguksu, ube kongguksu, kimchi pancake, king mandu (dumplings) and more. What's special here is that noodle refills are free, so you can order a bigger portion at no extra cost, or just add more noodles for free mid-meal if you're still hungry.

Even though we ordered the basic size, we ended up super full. And I'm a big eater — this place doesn't skimp on portions😉

There were three of us, and we ordered the pumpkin kongguksu mandu set, kongguksu mandu set, plain kongguksu, and kimchi pancake. The mandu set comes with two dumplings added to the noodle dish.

Kongguksu mandu set: thick soy milk broth that needs no salt

This is the kongguksu mandu set I ordered. I could totally see why the kongguksu here is famous😲

Close-up of thick soy milk kongguksu broth

The broth was thick and nutty, like it wasn't watered down at all, and the noodles were nice and chewy. Such delicious kongguksu! It had that real kongguksu-shop confidence, the kind that lets the soy milk broth do all the talking.

Kongguksu topped with fresh kimchi

The broth was so nutty and delicious. I usually add salt to season it, but this soy milk broth was already so good on its own that I ate it plain, no salt. Topping it with the spicy-sweet fresh kimchi made it absolutely incredible!!!❤️

What does pumpkin kongguksu taste like?

Pumpkin kongguksu ordered by a friend

This is the pumpkin kongguksu my friend ordered. This thing is amazing. It was way tastier than I expected — total surprise!✨️

Yellow soy milk broth mixed with pumpkin

It's pumpkin mixed into the soy milk broth, and it's sweet and nutty — exactly my type😍 It was my first time trying pumpkin kongguksu and it was so good! Highly recommend this one.

The noodles were chewy too, so the texture was excellent.

King mandu and kimchi pancake alongside the chilled kongguksu

Meat-filled king mandu (dumplings)

Adding the dumplings on top made us completely full! The noodle portion wasn't small to begin with, and the dumplings were big too. The meat mandu had a really full, hearty filling. Soft and nutty, so delicious. The king mandu (dumplings) were piping hot, which paired really well with the cool kongguksu☺️

Golden, crispy fried kimchi pancake

And the kimchi pancake, crispy outside and tender inside — amazing!! Nicely fried till crispy and golden brown. The kimchi flavor was rich too, so tasty.

Crispy outside, tender inside — the best kimchi pancake👍

We finished the kongguksu down to the last drop of broth. Seriously, everything here is delicious!!👏
