Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu Sangam Branch is the shabu-shabu and kalguksu spot I run to in Sangam-dong whenever I'm craving a spicy, hot broth. As a former Sangam-dong office worker and a current Sangam-dong golf range regular, I end up in Sangam-dong a lot these days!!!

I'm always starving after golf..... After golf practice I get a craving for a spicy broth~~~~~~ and when that happens, it has to be Deungchon!! I've worked my way through Deungchon starting from the Ilsan flagship store!!! so I headed straight for Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu Sangam Branch!!!! yep

Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu Sangam Branch is on the 2nd floor of the Woori Technology building. Office workers have no energy left.. the escalator is a must^^

Ride the escalator up and Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu Sangam Branch appears on the 2nd floor!! It's right in the middle of Sangam's office district, so it's super accessible for lunch or dinner after work 👍🏻 Parking is easy too, so it's convenient if you're driving 🚘

What is the seating like inside? Room for groups

Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu Sangam Branch has a lot of seats and feels really spacious~~ push the tables together and it can even fit large groups!!

When I visited, there seemed to be a group reservation, since one of the big tables had a reserved sign on it~~

Menu and prices: spicy, clear or perilla seed broth

At Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu you pick your broth first~~ choose from spicy / clear / perilla seed kalguksu! I love spicy so I picked spicy!! personally spicy kalguksu is just my style!💘

Next up are the add-on menus! Whenever I come to Deungchon I always add beef! For two people, spicy kalguksu x2 + beef came to ₩33,000 — isn't that pretty cheap in this era of high prices? Great for a filling, no-guilt meal 🥰

Eating the spicy kalguksu for two with 180g of beef, step by step

What we ordered was spicy kalguksu for two and 180g of beef. Got the wasabi soy sauce ready in advance and waited for the food!!!!

Kimchi, the lifeblood of any kalguksu place!! It was so good I finished it all and got a refill~~~~ just ask the staff and they'll refill it for you!

The main dish arrived~~~ first it simmers away on level 5!!!! Loaded with vegetables! Look at the minari~~~~ piled up like a mountain! I love the spicy broth + minari combo!

The beef looks gorgeous ✨

Drop the beef into the bubbling broth!!!! Once it's cooked, eat the beef together with the vegetables and it's super filling~~~~~ there's plenty of minari, potato, mushroom and more, so the vegetables are delicious too!

Deungchon Kalguksu's spicy broth isn't too hot or too sharp, it's just the right level of clean, spicy broth that anyone can enjoy easily. On a rainy day,... on a chilly day..... when you're craving spicy broth, Deungchon Kalguksu's spicy broth is exactly right!!

How chewy are the kalguksu noodles?

And of course... can't skip the kalguksu noodles!! I like to briefly touch them with cold air partway through to keep them chewy!! The spicy broth + kalguksu combo is always right...❣

If you're a Sangam-dong office worker stuck on what to have for lunch!!!! this is a great place to come! When I actually worked in Sangam I visited often! A little lunchtime happiness.. eating something delicious...

And the moment we've been waiting for: fried.rice!!!! Shabu-shabu + kalguksu + fried rice, that's the 3-piece set... I've seen people say they come to Deungchon Kalguksu just for this fried rice^^

Just ask via the tablet and they'll make the fried rice like this for you~~~~ because Koreans need rice!! Finish off with the fried rice and you'll be stuffed to bursting~~~~~~ fried rice makes it perfect💘
