Mapo burger restaurant with double patties: Quokka Bite
In short
Quokka Bite is a burger restaurant near Gyeongui Line Forest Park, within walking distance of Gongdeok and Daeheung Stations in Mapo, Seoul. I had the Quokka Double Cheeseburger and Grilled Quokka Burger with fries; the generous fillings made for a satisfying meal, though the dining room was not large.

While looking for somewhere to eat near Gongdeok and Daeheung Stations, I stopped by Quokka Bite (쿼카바이트), a handmade burger restaurant. I had planned on a light meal, but the burgers were more filling than I expected because they were generously packed with ingredients.

Can you walk there from Daeheung or Gongdeok Station?
It is an easy walk from Exit 3 of Daeheung Station, and it is also reachable on foot from Gongdeok Station. I drove there, and parking felt convenient. Since it is near Gyeongui Line Forest Park, I thought it would be nice to take a walk before or after eating.

How large is the dining room, and are there terrace seats?
The restaurant was not large, but the space was used efficiently and felt cozy. During my visit, the tables seemed to turn over quickly. There were also terrace seats, which looked nice for eating outside on a pleasant day. It is close to Sogang University, making it a convenient place to stop for lunch nearby.

How filling were the burgers as a meal?
I ordered the Quokka Double Cheeseburger with two patties and the Grilled Quokka Burger with bacon. Both looked substantial even before I started eating, with ingredients piled generously between the buns.

They felt just as full when I ate them. The patties, vegetables, and sauces came together well, and even one set was quite filling.

How were the fries?

The fries were plump one by one. They were crisp outside and fluffy inside, and I enjoyed them with the burgers.

What was the atmosphere like while eating?
Australian-style props and displays made the space fun to look around. Photos of Australia on one wall also caught my eye. Those decorations made it feel a little like eating at a handmade burger restaurant in an Australian travel destination.

Even after a few bites, the burgers' thick fillings still stood out. The ingredients also felt fresh, and I wanted to come back with friends. With its cozy atmosphere, I thought it could be a nice place to stop for a meal during a date as well.

What was the takeout experience like?

I took burgers and sides home to eat as well. They packed everything carefully, so I could still enjoy a filling meal at home.
