Seocho café breakfast sandwiches with basil pesto: Focaccia Cucina
In short
Focaccia Cucina is an Italian sandwich café in Seocho, Seoul, opening from 7 AM. I tried the Caesar sandwich and basil pesto pizza sandwich, then took home squid ink focaccia and handmade basil pesto. Verdict: a lovely pick for a light but special breakfast bread menu.

Focaccia sandwiches in Seocho-dong early in the morning
I was looking for a sandwich shop that opens nice and early, and that is how I found Focaccia Cucina (포카치아쿠치나) (๑˙ꄃ˙๑)♡⃛ The closer I got, the more the warm, delicious scent of bread wafted through the air, so I was already excited before I even stepped inside!

It is tucked away in an alley in Seocho-dong, but it was easy to find, which was convenient!

I also liked that it was an easy walk after getting off at Nambu Bus Terminal ( •̀ω•́ )✧

Seats inside and an early opening time
There are a few small seats inside for eating in, making it perfect for a light bite before you go ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ You can order at the kiosk too~~ The compact interior felt warm and welcoming!

Best of all, opening as early as 7 AM makes it a really great breakfast pick! Most ingredients sell out quickly by around 3 PM, so it is best to stop by early (๑'ᵕ'๑)♡⃛ They are regularly closed every Monday, so keep that in mind when you visit!

A generously filled Caesar sandwich
While I waited after ordering, that wonderful scent got my appetite going and made me even more excited ( ⁎ᵕᴗᵕ⁎ )❤︎ The owner was so kind too, so the wait was a happy one! The Caesar sandwich was the first thing I tried, and its looks alone caught my eye! I took a big bite, and the generous fillings filled my mouth while the sauce combination was just perfect (๑˙ꄃ˙๑)♡⃛ The crisp vegetables were wonderfully fresh, and I could not stop exclaiming as I ate ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و Everything inside worked together so well that I cleared every last piece!

Basil pesto pizza sandwich and focaccia
Next up was the basil pesto pizza sandwich. The cheese pulled into lovely strands, so it was fun to look at too ( •̀ω•́ )✧ The fragrant basil flavor spread richly, while the full-bodied cheese seemed to wrap around my tongue!
The sandwich bread itself was so excellent that it became more irresistible with every bite ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ The simple yet rich-tasting focaccia really lets all the flavors shine!

Squid ink focaccia I brought home
They also sold their squid ink focaccia separately, so of course I bought one without hesitation ( ⁎ᵕᴗᵕ⁎ )❤︎ I tried it again at home, and I was genuinely impressed that its chewy, springy texture had stayed perfectly intact!

How could it be so moist inside and pleasantly chewy outside? I kept marveling at it as I ate (๑'ᵕ'๑)♡⃛ The more you chew, the more its gentle, nutty savoriness comes through, so you never get tired of it!

Handmade basil pesto for home
I completely fell for the distinctive flavor of the basil pesto, so I ended up bringing home some handmade basil pesto too (๑˙ꄃ˙๑)♡⃛ It was wonderful spread over bread or a simple slice of toast at home! If you love a deep basil flavor, I think this is an essential item to take home ( •̀ω•́ )✧ You can really taste the ingredients themselves, so it is incredibly versatile!

Thanks to the owner's warm, kind service, I enjoyed delicious food and came away full of good energy too! I think these lovingly made sandwiches will keep coming to mind whenever I crave one ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)o

I definitely recommend a visit if you want to enjoy a light yet special sandwich early in the morning ( ⁎ᵕᴗᵕ⁎ )❤︎ Bread lovers will surely have a satisfying time!
