Lamb skewer restaurant in Bupyeong: Neukdaewa Yang Samsan
In short
Neukdaewa Yang Samsan is a lamb skewer restaurant in Samsan-dong, Bupyeong, Incheon. I ordered classic and Cheonrihyang lamb skewers, guobaorou, and shrimp fried rice; the tender, odor-free lamb and fluffy fried rice stood out. Wide table spacing and fans under the tables made grilling more comfortable.

I visited Neukdaewa Yang Samsan Branch (늑대와양 삼산점), which had recently opened in Samsan-dong, Bupyeong. We had lamb skewers and guobaorou, then added shrimp fried rice; the fried rice we ordered at the end was especially memorable.

Where is Neukdaewa Yang Samsan in Bupyeong?
The restaurant is on the second floor at 21 Chungseon-ro 209beon-gil in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon. It was right in front of me when I got off the elevator. The original post lists its hours as daily from 11:30 AM to 11:00 PM, and says Naver reservations, group visits, and takeout are available.

Are there seats for dates or group gatherings?
My first impression was of a lamb skewer restaurant with a café-like feel. There were seats for two as well as group rooms, so I thought it could work for a meal for two, a family gathering, or a group dinner.

I liked that the tables were not pushed together. The person I went with, my fiancé, usually dislikes getting hot in front of a grill, but the tables here were widely spaced and had fans underneath, so we ate comfortably.

The self-service bar had zhacai (pickled mustard stem), pickled vegetables, peanuts, side plates, and tableware.
What did we order, and how much was it?
We could order by tablet. There were set menus ranging from a couple set for two to three people to a family set, but we ordered à la carte.
- Lamb skewers, one serving: ₩16,000
- Cheonrihyang lamb skewers, one serving: ₩16,500
- Guobaorou: ₩19,000

Several spices and a mallet for slushies were set on the table. We also ordered Tsingtao beer to have with the lamb skewers.

How did the classic and Cheonrihyang lamb skewers differ?
The classic lamb skewers were good for eating simply. The Cheonrihyang lamb skewers were spicier than the classic ones, with a slight spice flavor.

We put the lamb skewers on the grill and began cooking them. While they cooked, we ate the guobaorou that arrived first.

What were the guobaorou sauce and texture like?
The guobaorou had a sweet-and-sour sauce that reminded me of the sauce on old-fashioned tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork). Its chewy yet crisp texture also suited my taste.

What did we eat with the grilled lamb skewers?
While we ate the guobaorou, the lamb skewers browned nicely. The slightly sweet soy sauce went well with them, and I did not notice any gamey odor from the meat. They were tender enough that I repeatedly told the person I was with how tender they were.

We received dol chobap (stone-bowl sushi) as a complimentary item that day. I put a little wasabi on the rice and topped it with a piece of lamb skewer.

How was the extra order of shrimp fried rice?
Even though we were quite full after a bottle of beer, we wanted one more dish. The person I went with mentioned shrimp fried rice, so we ordered it as an extra.

It was not a dish I had been craving from the start, but after trying it, I was glad we ordered it. I liked the texture of the individual rice grains separating cleanly, and the flavor was neat and clean.

Since they also serve lunch, we said we should come back for shrimp fried rice at lunchtime next time. Along with the tender lamb skewers, this fried rice was what I remembered most from this meal.
