I had an errand in the Pyeongdong area and wanted a hearty lunch, so I stopped by Jinsim King Donkatsu Pyeongdong Branch (진심왕돈까스 평동점). 😊

A generous meal of King Donkatsu and jjolmyeon

With “King Donkatsu” right in the name, I expected a generous serving—but when it arrived, both the donkatsu (Japanese-style breaded pork cutlet) and jjolmyeon (chewy noodles in a spicy-tangy sauce) were seriously substantial. 😳 The crispy cutlet and spicy-tangy noodles went so well together that I left very satisfied. 👍✨

Is parking convenient?

I drove there, and I really liked how huge the parking lot was. 🚙✨

Spacious parking area at Jinsim King Donkatsu Pyeongdong Branch

Even when you find a great restaurant, not having enough parking can be quietly stressful. Here, I did not have to worry much about parking, which was convenient. It is definitely an advantage for anyone looking for somewhere to eat while driving around the Pyeongdong area. 👍

A clean, spacious interior

Once inside, the restaurant felt clean overall and pleasantly roomy.

There are two-person tables, and the number of seats is generous, so it did not feel awkward to stop by alone for a simple meal. 😊 It also looked suitable for a family meal or dining with several coworkers, so I think it would work well for anyone looking for a lunch spot near Pyeongdong Station. 👨👩👧👦

Those two dishes.

You can help yourself to water, side dishes, and the basic soup at the self-service bar.

Before the donkatsu came out, I had a bowl of warm cream soup first. It was smooth and warm, and felt like a comforting start for my stomach. 🥣😊

When I come to this kind of old-school Western-style donkatsu restaurant, the fun of having pre-meal soup is something I cannot leave out. 😋

The donkatsu and jjolmyeon pairing

The very first thing I thought when the food arrived was:

Generous servings of King Donkatsu and jjolmyeon

This is seriously a lot of food! 😂

The Jinsim King Double Donkatsu was big and generous enough to fill the plate, while the King Jjolmyeon also lived up to its name with a plentiful serving.

King Donkatsu with a crispy breaded coating

The donkatsu had a nicely crisp coating with a satisfying bite, while the inside was not unpleasantly dry, so it was good with the sauce. 🤤

Jjolmyeon with spicy-tangy seasoning

Adding the jjolmyeon, with its chewy noodles and spicy-tangy seasoning, made the combination really good. 🌶️ My favorite way to eat it was to put jjolmyeon on a piece of donkatsu.

Eating donkatsu and jjolmyeon together

After the crispy, savory donkatsu, the tangy and spicy flavor of the jjolmyeon cut through the richness, while the chewy noodles added even more texture. 👍✨ Eating jjolmyeon along the way kept the meal from becoming tiring, rather than eating only donkatsu all the time. The portions are not small, so having both dishes in front of you makes for a properly filling meal. 😆

A hearty serving of donkatsu and jjolmyeon

Since the portions are so large, some people may not be able to finish all their donkatsu. The restaurant had paper takeaway boxes ready for packing up leftover cutlet. 📦

I appreciated that they had prepared them so you could neatly take your leftovers home without having to ask the staff one by one. 😊

I quite liked that they served generous portions while also making it easy to pack up what was left.

If you want a filling lunch

What stood out most about Jinsim King Donkatsu Pyeongdong Branch was its generous portions and easygoing setting. 😊 The large parking lot made it convenient to visit by car, and the clean, roomy interior looked easy to use for everything from solo meals to family outings and group dining. The King Donkatsu and King Jjolmyeon I had that day also made an excellent pairing. Having spicy-tangy jjolmyeon with crispy donkatsu reduced the richness and brought the flavors and textures to life even more. 🍖🌶️ Above all, both dishes were generous, so I think anyone looking for a satisfyingly full lunch would be pleased. If you are looking for a hearty place to eat around Pyeongdong or Pyeongdong Station, Jinsim King Donkatsu Pyeongdong Branch is worth a visit. 😊👍
