Anyang Korean BBQ restaurant for late-night pork ribs: Sannae Sutbul Galbi
In short
Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant near Bakdal Market in Anyang, Gyeonggi. The charcoal-marinated pork ribs stayed juicy without over-charring, while the spotless dining room, self-service station, and kind staff made a late dinner especially satisfying. Verdict: worth returning for another serving of galbi.

A late dinner near Bakdal Market
Anyang isn’t normally part of my usual routine, but the company shuttle drops me off around here, so on days I go to my parents’ place, my fiancé and I occasionally meet in Anyang. I had errands in Anyang that day too, and after running around here and there, it was already well past 8 p.m... While looking for somewhere serving food late, I found a place with decent real reviews that stayed open late, so we went!
It was near Bakdal Market.

Marinated pork ribs and side dishes
Their signature dish is marinated pork ribs! The menu wasn’t complicated and was nicely straightforward—exactly the feel of a good neighborhood spot, haha.

The side dishes also felt like they stuck well to the basics! We considered trying the pork skin too, but the ribs were much more delicious than expected, so after starting with two portions, we ordered one more. In the end, we never got to try the pork skin, haha.

A spotless dining room and self-service station
And the moment I walked in, I noticed how incredibly clean the restaurant was. The exhaust hoods were clean, and of course so were the tables.

Even the charcoal-loading area was kept spotless. Ah, seriously... I was jealous of the locals, lol.

There was also a guide on one side explaining how to enjoy the meat. These days, I sometimes see places where even notices like this have clearly been run through AI and the wording or design is way too much... It shouldn’t be that hard to make one simple and pretty like this, I thought ㅠㅠ And you could feel the kindness even in the text on the notice... The staff really were very kind too.

Most of all, this was just a 100000-out-of-100 for cleanliness kind of place... It had been such a long time since I’d seen a restaurant with a self-service station this clean.

They had not only regular drinks but drinks that kids would enjoy too, so it really felt like a true neighborhood family favorite, haha.

Ribs that cooked juicy without over-charring
After properly grabbing onions and garlic to grill from the self-service corner, the charcoal was ready and the meat came out right away!

When I first saw the color of the meat, I thought, “Isn’t the marinade a little pale for marinated pork ribs?” But according to my fiancé, who did the grilling~ meat like this is good because it doesn’t burn all over from the marinade...

Meat heavily coated in marinade can quickly burn from the sauce as it grills, but he said this one felt like the seasoning had soaked in just right. And once we grilled it, that was exactly it: the marinade didn’t over-char, while the meat cooked up beautifully juicy.

The banchan (Korean side dishes) were also neatly served, with just the classic basics.

Looking at the photos again is making me hungry ㅠㅠ Such a place that makes you want to eat it again...

The charcoal was great too, so the meat cooked really quickly.

And then my favorite, steamed egg, arrived too, haha. As I waited while taking bites of steamed egg, the meat was cooked before I knew it.

Marinated ribs with wraps and grilled garlic
I immediately wrapped some in fresh vegetables. The garlic was sizzling away in oil too, and it cooked so well—sooooo delicious.

I love piling meat, garlic, and all sorts of things into a ssam (leaf wrap) like this...

We’re not usually a couple with huge appetites, but that day we ended up ordering one more portion of meat, haha. It was that delicious!!! We happened upon this place late at night, but the restaurant was so clean, the staff were kind, and most importantly, the marinated ribs were delicious, so we were very satisfied. If you’re looking for a clean charcoal rib restaurant around Bakdal-dong in Anyang, Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch was a good one. So good!!! I’d come back!!
