In short

Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yangju Branch is a charcoal dakgalbi (grilled marinated chicken) restaurant in Manseong-dong, Yangju, near Lakewood CC. Three of us ordered two servings of charcoal dakgalbi and one of soy dakgalbi, then finished with two bowls of bibim makguksu (spicy buckwheat noodles); staff grilled the pre-seared chicken at the table, and dongchimi (radish water kimchi) and wrap vegetables were unlimited at the self-serve bar. With a wide parking lot and a clean interior, Seorak Makguksu is an easy choice for a family meal or a group dinner.

Located in Manseong-dong, Yangju! Since it's near Lakewood CC, it'd also be a great stop for a meal after golfing haha. I'm so happy a new dakgalbi spot opened up in Yangju ❤️

Is parking easy at Seorak Makguksu?

Best of all, there's a parking lot right in front, so we could walk straight in with zero parking stress! The lot is really spacious — genuinely the best 🧡

Interior and seating at the Yangju branch

The interior of Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yangju Branch was clean and comfortable overall! When you think of a charcoal dakgalbi place, you kind of picture it hazy with smoke and chaotic, but this place has a wide, tidy interior that looked great for a family meal or a gathering ❤️

What three people ordered

The menu at Seorak Makguksu! There are two types — charcoal and soy dakgalbi. There were three of us, so we ordered two servings of charcoal dakgalbi and one serving of soy dakgalbi!

There was a tablet right at the table, so we could order right from our seats — so convenient~!

At the self-serve corner, unlimited refills of side dishes, lettuce wraps, and dongchimi 😍

There were a lot of celebrity(?) signatures on the wall!! Smells like a real must-visit spot,,,,

Side dishes and unlimited dongchimi at the self-serve bar

Once we sat down they set this up for us — cabbage with mustard sauce, radish salad, and yeolmu (young radish) kimchi! The side dishes were plentiful and delicious. And especially the dongchimi!!! Sweet and tangy, it really woke up the appetite — genuinely the best appetizer,,,,, 🧡 I kind of want to go back just for the dongchimi ;;

Charcoal dakgalbi grilled at your table by staff

And a bit later, the charcoal showed up!!! Once the dakgalbi hit the charcoal, that smoky aroma started drifting up, and it looked so unbelievably good ㅠㅠ The charcoal dakgalbi arrives pre-seared, so you only need a little more grilling at the table, and the wait wasn't long — loved that!

And best of all! The staff grills the dakgalbi for you. Truly the best dakgalbi spot in Yangju,,, and their grilling skills are 👍👍👍

Dakgalbi grilling over charcoal

I tried a nicely browned piece of dakgalbi and wow... maybe because it's chicken thigh, it was soft and juicy with a subtle charcoal aroma soaked in — genuinely delicious 😍 They said the dakgalbi uses 100% domestic refrigerated Harim chicken thigh!

Charcoal or soy dakgalbi: which one to order?

The seasoning isn't overly strong either, so you keep reaching for more! Personally, charcoal dakgalbi was way more my style hahaha. I also tried the soy dakgalbi, and it was tasty too! The salty-sweet soy sauce marinade pairs really well with the chicken, so if you can't handle spicy food or you're visiting with kids, I'd recommend ordering soy.

Soy-marinated dakgalbi grilling

Piling a piece of dakgalbi, a clove of garlic, and some kimchi onto a lettuce leaf like this was a party in my mouth... The portions were surprisingly generous too, so we ate our fill.

Two bowls of bibim makguksu to finish

Dakgalbi is plenty tasty on its own, but you can't skip makguksu when you're eating dakgalbi, right...? So we ordered two bibim makguksu for dessert! The sweet-tangy sauce and chewy noodles went so well together, and eating it alongside the charcoal dakgalbi totally cut the richness ❤️ One bite of dakgalbi, one bite of bibim makguksu — it's a combo you can't stop eating ㅋㅋㅋ

Bibim makguksu ordered for dessert

On one side of the table there was vinegar, mustard, and seasoning sauce to add to the makguksu, so you could adjust it to your taste~!

We cleaned our plates again,,,,, 10000% would revisit

Is Seorak Makguksu Yangju worth a visit?

They even had candy and coffee ready for dessert, perfect for a post-meal palate cleanser. And overall, not just the food but the whole restaurant felt well cared for, which made me like it even more! The self-serve bar was neatly organized too, so you could easily grab whatever side dishes or vegetables you needed.

If you're looking for a great charcoal dakgalbi spot in Yangju, Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yangju Branch is worth a visit! Soft dakgalbi full of charcoal aroma, soy dakgalbi if that's more your taste, and finishing off with sweet-tangy bibim makguksu ❤️ On top of that, the restaurant is clean and parking is easy, so it seems great for a family meal or dinner with friends,,, I had such a good meal that day that next time I want to go back for the charcoal dakgalbi and makguksu combo again haha
