Gwangju Korean restaurant with a 17-dish feast: Misikga Imokase
In short
Misikga Imokase Cheomdan Direct Store is a Korean restaurant in Gwangsan, Gwangju, serving a 17-dish imokase-style feast. We cooked pollack hangover soup and ramen at the table, then finished with spicy webfoot octopus cheese fried rice and milk-ice bingsu. Verdict: a satisfying choice for groups wanting lots of Korean dishes.

A 17-dish imokase feast in Cheomdan and parking
Today I went to Misikga Imokase Cheomdan Direct Store (미식가 이모카세 첨단직영점) in Cheomdan!!
[Misikga Imokase Cheomdan Direct Store Hours] Mon–Sat / 16:00–24:00 (Closed every Sunday) [Parking] Parking for 6 cars in front of the restaurant 2 hours of free parking at Centum Sports Tower
There was a small parking lot right in front of the restaurant, so parking was easy, which I loved!!

Misikga Imokase Cheomdan is famous as a great Cheomdan dinner spot where 17 different dishes come out!!

It was so convenient that we could help ourselves to alcohol and drinks!!

Group gatherings and private rooms
Misikga Imokase Cheomdan had so many spacious indoor tables!! It seemed perfect for a company dinner or group gathering too!!
Along with the indoor tables, there were several rooms further inside, so it would be great for anyone wanting to enjoy imokase privately too!!
The rooms were not small at all—they were really spacious, so even a large group would fit comfortably!!
The interiors were so clean and upscale throughout that I thought it would also be nice to bring parents or older guests here!!

At Misikga Imokase Cheomdan, it is ₩35,000 per person for up to two people and, amazingly, ₩30,000 per person from three people onward for 17 dishes—such a great-value restaurant!! I also loved that you can add more of anything you run out of or particularly like for an additional charge!!

Warm pollack hangover soup cooked at the table
Each table had its own burner, so it was great to keep the soup cooking and eat it warm until the very end!!
The tableware was such an upscale gold color, and it arrived soaking in hot water, so you could really tell they paid close attention to hygiene!!
First up was dried pollack hangover soup!! They told us to eat it 10 minutes after it started boiling!! It was packed with bean sprouts and dried pollack, and the milky broth was so rich and delicious!! It felt like I was recovering from a hangover while drinking, haha. So refreshing and tasty!!

The tofu was so soft too—just perfect for settling your stomach!!
A Korean spread from makhoe to yukhoe
The soybean-powder makhoe (mixed raw fish), wrapped in perilla leaves! It was full of fish, and the soybean powder made it wonderfully nutty!! Wrapped in the perilla leaves served alongside, it was sweet, tangy, and so delicious!!

Seasoned acorn jelly and Korean beef heifer yukhoe (seasoned raw beef)! The acorn jelly was not bitter, and its coolness with the lettuce went so well with the seasoning!! The yukhoe was so fresh too, with absolutely no odor, and the seasoning was delicious.

The holiday-style japchae (stir-fried glass noodles) had wonderfully chewy noodles and lots of ingredients, including meat and carrots, making it perfectly sweet and savory! The kimchi pancake was made with well-fermented kimchi, so its tanginess was great for refreshing the palate midway through. It was crispy and warm, which made it even better, haha.

The grilled Yeonggwang gulbi (dried yellow croaker) was not fishy at all and came beautifully crisp—it totally made me want rice, haha. The skin was nicely crisped too, so this was such a delicious dish, haha.

The braised pomfret had such tender flesh, and the deeply cooked braised radish served with it was the key!! Another dish that made me want rice, haha. The perilla-oil fried egg may seem simple, but it is so good when you eat it, right?! The perilla oil made it extra nutty, and it came on a sizzling stone plate, staying warm until the end, which was so nice.
Sinjjukkumi! Since they actually run a Sinjjukkumi branch, I guess that is why the flavor was exactly the same!! The webfoot octopus was so chewy and delicious, and it also had thin-sliced pork belly and rice cakes inside, making it great to combine everything together, haha.

The samhap bossam (boiled pork with fermented skate and aged kimchi) came with both aged kimchi and gat kimchi, which I loved, and there was such a generous amount of pork!! The aged kimchi was really well fermented, so it was also so delicious with the ramen that came later, haha.

Beef yukjeon (pan-fried battered beef)! Have it with the seasoned shredded scallions served alongside and it instantly feels like a holiday! It was not overpowering, just nutty and so delicious, haha.

Hangover ramen and Sinjjukkumi cheese fried rice
Around this point, the hangover ramen appeared~ They gave us Shin Ramyun broth and noodles for the burner beside us, so we just boiled it away, haha. One especially great thing was that the burner flame was really strong. It came to a boil so quickly!

Partway through, they made cheese fried rice with the Sinjjukkumi, and this was seriously unbelievably delicious.

The cheese was not just ordinary cheese—it was fluffy and buttery—and with the fried rice well cooked with seaweed flakes, it was seriously incredible. I definitely recommend getting the fried rice!!!

Finishing with fruit and milk-ice bingsu
Dessert time! The fruit included dragon fruit, pineapple, Shine Muscat grapes, banana, orange, and pumpkin injeolmi (rice cake)! After all that delicious food, the sweet fruit finish was perfect!

Injeolmi snowflake bingsu and mini Saewookkang shrimp crackers came along too. The bingsu was made with milk ice rather than plain ice, so it was really nutty, and the combination of soybean powder and red beans was so good! Sweet and nutty, I kept reaching for it, haha. Just right as a final palate cleanser!!
The restroom was inside the restaurant too, which was convenient, haha.

Reservations recommended before visiting
Misikga Imokase Cheomdan had such a wide variety of dishes, and every single one was so delicious—I was completely satisfied, haha. It must already be a famous local spot in Cheomdan: we booked and went right when it opened, but there were so many reserved tables! By the time we left, it was nearly full. Everyone, reservations are a must before visiting! Highly recommended for anyone wanting drinks with lots of different anju (dishes to enjoy with alcohol) in Cheomdan, haha.
