Are there good seats for dining alone near Ewha Womans University?

It was on the second floor of a red-brick building, about an eight-minute walk from Exit 1 of Ewha Womans University Station. There were tables for groups and counter seats, and the bar table by the window looked perfectly fine for eating alone. There were empty seats around 5:30 p.m. on a weekday, but after 6 p.m., more couples, students, and office workers started coming in.

What is available at the self-serve bar?

Salad, black sesame dressing, and yuzu dressing were set out, along with hair ties. You could help yourself to as much rice and soup as you wanted. Water was self-serve too.

How did the three butadon styles differ?

We ordered one of each type on the menu and added extra meat. The spicy pork rice bowl came topped with shishito peppers, with a soy sauce-based seasoning, a Shin Ramyun-level heat to me, and a smoky flavor.

The standard pork rice bowl had a sweet soy sauce base topped with garlic flakes. It felt like there was more meat than rice, and I ate it with wasabi here and there.

The soboro pork rice bowl contained finely minced meat and stir-fried kimchi. After one bite, my dad said several times that the seasoning was just right.

What were the prices and practical details?

At the time of writing, the soboro piled-high galbi rice and 36-hour-aged butadon were listed at 9,500 won, spicy butadon at 10,000 won, and extra meat at 3,500 won. Parking was marked unavailable, and you needed to pick up a key to use the restroom.

The posted hours at the time were 10:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m., with last orders at 8 p.m. and a break from 3:30–5 p.m. It was closed every Sunday.
