A barbecue restaurant on a three-way corner near Yangjeong Station

If you are looking for a barbecue place near Yangjeong Station, I recommend Jirisan Kkul Tong Galbi Busan Yangjeong Branch (지리산 꿀통갈비 부산양정점). A friend and I decided on a spontaneous lunch, and while wondering what to eat, we heard there was a meat restaurant that opened from noon, so I wanted to try it. We figured we would be the only ones there anyway, and thought they would need time to get ready after opening, so we went at 12:30—but people were already eating and even opening drinks, haha. I knew Yangjeong-dong had lots of older residents and office workers, but I was genuinely surprised to see so many people there at lunch, already drinking!

It is on the first floor at 18 Jungang-daero 909beon-gil, Busanjin-gu, Busan. It sits right on the corner where the road splits into three, so it is easy to spot and get to. It is close to Yangjeong Station, so getting here by public transportation is easy too. It is in the Yangjeong-dong food alley, where there are plenty of other good places to eat nearby!

A compact, cozy interior

The layout does not allow as many people in as the exterior might suggest. Still, I was taken aback because there were so many people when we visited, haha. The interior is L-shaped, compact but cozy. It is a nice place for a family meal or a relaxed visit with friends.

I heard that on nice days they open the folding doors, so you can enjoy the meat in a romantic atmosphere with a cool breeze!

The self-service bar, table fee, and menu prices

You can freely help yourself to the side dishes at the self-service bar. There is a good variety, so it is easy to use without any pressure!

There is a ₩1,500 table setting fee per person here. At first I went, “Oh?” but I understood right away once I saw the menu prices.

Marinated galbi is ₩3,900 per 100g, while fresh ribs, pork belly, and side dishes are ₩4,900.

Even with the table setting fee added, it does not feel like a waste at all. If you are looking for a great-value barbecue restaurant, I do not think there is a better one!

The first order is one geun, starting with fresh ribs

The minimum order is one geun (600g), with 100g increments after that. At first, I wondered whether we could finish 600g, but we absolutely could, haha. We ordered three portions of honey-marinated galbi (₩3,900 per 100g) and three portions of fresh pork ribs (₩4,900 per 100g)!

When we said we would have the fresh ribs first and then the marinated ribs, they gave us the grill plate for fresh ribs first. They said they would change the plate when we were ready for the marinated ribs later, which was so convenient!

The fresh ribs were bigger and tastier than I expected.

They say it is delicious dipped in salt, and the salt was good, but because it was hot, I found eating it with soy sauce especially delicious too.

Sprinkling hamcho salt, a glasswort salt, got rid of any gamey smell and added a nice aroma, making it even more delicious. My friend said it was tasty and better than expected too, which was a relief. I was the one who suggested this place, haha.

Once we had finished the fresh ribs and said we were ready for the marinated ribs, they changed the grill plate for us.

Because it was marinated and the grill plate had been changed, the flames came up quickly, and it was wonderfully sweet and delicious!

The deeply aged marinade had an explosive savory depth, giving it a charm completely different from the fresh ribs.

Jar Jjapagetti with the meat

Jar Jjapagetti (₩4,900)

At first I thought soybean paste stew and rice would be really good with it, but everyone only mentioned the jar Jjapagetti, so we ordered it.

It was really good! There were rice cakes in the Jjapagetti, so it had another fun texture to eat.

I could see why everyone says to get the jar Jjapagetti. It is perfect with the meat!

I went half skeptical because I heard there was a meat restaurant open from noon, but I was surprised because it was genuinely delicious and such good value. Both the marinated galbi and fresh ribs were tasty, and the jar Jjapagetti made it a perfect combination. If you are looking for a great-value barbecue restaurant near Yangjeong Station, I strongly recommend Jirisan Kkul Tong Galbi Busan Yangjeong Branch!
