Sasang-dong bar: raw fish sashimi with washed aged kimchi, Sisibibi
In short
Sisibibi is a cozy Korean-style bar near Sadang Station in Dongjak, Seoul. The seasonal raw fish sashimi and spicy bibim guksu (mixed noodles) stood out, especially the boneless, tender sashimi paired with washed aged kimchi, and the spicy-salty noodles that kept the meal going. It's a Sadang bar built for quiet conversation over drinks rather than a loud night out.

I've been looking for a place near Sadang Station where I could eat something delicious and chat comfortably, so I stopped by Sisibibi.
There are so many restaurants and bars around Sadang Station that it's hard to decide where to go, so this time I looked for a place where I could enjoy raw fish alongside a variety of side dishes.
Bottom line: the atmosphere was cozy and the food was tasty, so I left satisfied. If you like raw fish, this is a Sadang restaurant worth checking out at least once. 😊

Getting to Sisibibi from Sadang Station
📍 Sisibibi / 163 Sadang-ro 30-gil, 2nd floor, Dongjak-gu, Seoul
It's pretty close to Sadang Station, so it was easy to find. It's actually within comfortable walking distance from the station, so it'd work well as a meeting spot too.
🐟 What we ordered
This time we ordered
- ✔️ Seasonal raw fish sashimi (makssseolli-hoe)
- ✔️ Bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles)
That's what we went with. At first I wondered if "makhoe" meant the style where you chew through the bones too, but that turned out to be my favorite part — it wasn't like that at all.

The seasonal raw fish sashimi is boneless and soft
With makhoe, you sometimes expect fish bones mixed in, giving it a rougher texture, but the makssseolli-hoe here wasn't the bone-in kind — it was soft and easy to eat, which I loved.
The sashimi itself was tender so it went down easily, and each bite had a clean, light fish flavor. Rather than just eating it plain, it was fun to combine it with the side dishes that came with it.
The washed aged kimchi (mukeunji) really won me over. Its tangy sourness paired perfectly with the sashimi — putting a piece of kimchi on top of the fish cut through any richness and woke up my appetite instantly. Trying it with the ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste) and other side dishes gave it a totally different flavor than eating the sashimi alone, so I kept mixing and matching.
Personally, when the side dishes are this good, I can't stop reaching for more — before I knew it, I'd gone fish, kimchi, dip in another sauce, over and over, and the plate was nearly empty. 😂 Anyone who loves raw fish would enjoy this style.
🌶️ The bibim guksu we added
Sashimi alone felt like it needed something more, so we added bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles) too. It matched better than I expected.
The sauce was spicy and salty, the kind that grabs your appetite, and eating it in between bites of sashimi worked really well. The seasoning wasn't too mild — it had a good kick, which made it a great drinking snack too. Perfect to order as a finishing dish after the sashimi.
🏮 The cozy atmosphere was a plus
Beyond the food, what I liked most that day was the atmosphere of the place.

The overall vibe was cozy, so it was better suited for sitting and chatting over food than for a loud, noisy scene. Around Sadang Station, meeting spots tend to be crowded and hectic, but this place had a calm atmosphere good for conversation over food.
So it'd be great for meeting a friend for a casual drink, or even for a bigger group gathering. The store actually has group seating, so I heard it can also be used for gatherings or work dinners.
💛 My honest review after trying it
Of everything we tried, the seasonal raw fish sashimi was by far the most memorable. Rather than the usual rough feel of makhoe, it was soft and easy to eat, and above all, the washed aged kimchi and ssamjang that came with it paired perfectly with the fish.
The sashimi being tasty on its own matters, but personally I love places where the side dishes you eat alongside it are just as good — and this place delivered on that. The bibim guksu we added was spicy and salty, great for alternating bites with the sashimi.
If you're near Sadang Station looking for raw fish or Korean-style drinking snacks in a nice atmosphere, Sisibibi is a solid Sadang restaurant choice. I'd especially recommend it for days when you want to eat good food and talk in a cozy setting rather than somewhere too loud. 😊
Next time I visit, I'd like to try the other snack menu items I didn't get to this time. If you're near Sadang Station looking for a place to eat good food and catch up with a friend, give it a try! I was quite satisfied with the combo of soft seasonal raw fish sashimi + washed aged kimchi + spicy-salty bibim guksu. 🐟💛
