On the weekend, my partner and I had lunch in Gwanghwamun :) While hunting for an appetite-boosting, good-value spot, we found Cheonghwa Uyuk Dosakmyeon in Gwanghwamun! We got to enjoy beef noodles, dim sum, and rice bowls — all things I love — at great prices. So here's my honest review of this Gwanghwamun beef noodle favorite 😊

How to find Cheonghwa Uyuk Dosakmyeon and where to park

This Gwanghwamun beef noodle favorite is located in Pimatgol near exit 1 of Jongak Station, so it's really accessible. Plus, the Remeire Building offers 2 hours of free parking — totally great 👍

The interior has two floors. It's not a huge space, but the big windows give it an open, airy feel.

Cheonghwa Uyuk Dosakmyeon menu and prices

Here's the menu at this Gwanghwamun beef noodle favorite. Beef knife-cut noodles with dosakmyeon are ₩11,000, there are three kinds of dim sum all at ₩9,800, and various fried dishes, rice bowls, and stir-fries are priced around ₩20,000 — pretty great value.

Complimentary sides: stir-fried peanuts and zha cai

The basic side dishes here are stir-fried peanuts and zha cai (pickled mustard). The zha cai comes mixed with other vegetables like cabbage, which was a nice touch to nibble on.

Tiger stir-fried rice bowl, 10,800 won: tender pork with seaweed egg soup

Tiger stir-fry rice bowl (₩10,800) — this is the same dish I enjoyed at Cheonghwawon in Sinchon.

It's a rice bowl with egg, pork, and chili stir-fried in a spicy-savory sauce, served over white rice.

That bold tiger stir-fry flavor really wakes up your appetite 😋 I was surprised that the pork at this Gwanghwamun location was as soft in texture as the egg.

The seaweed egg soup that came with it had a texture almost like crab soup — warm, smooth, and a really great pairing.

Crystal moon dumplings, 9,800 won: chive and whole-shrimp dim sum

The crystal moon dumplings arrived glistening, with steam still rising — so pretty ✨

The translucent, chewy dumpling skin had perfect fine pleats — and the green of the chives showing through the clear wrapper was so pretty.

These crystal moon dumplings are packed with whole chives and shrimp — the fragrant chives and springy shrimp made this a truly delicious dim sum. Highly recommend for those who don't eat meat 👍

Beef knife-cut noodles, 11,000 won: tangy, clean broth with mustard-leaf salad

The dosakmyeon noodles are wonderfully chewy — their springiness is incomparable to other noodles, staying bouncy and chewy to the very last bite. So appealing.

The beef isn't in a huge quantity, but the few thick, tender pieces were clearly delicious — I liked that.

Minced mustard leaf salad gives it a slightly tangy edge — refreshing beef noodles with a kind of tom yum goong vibe for the beef noodle world…? lol A really appealing, appetite-boosting broth.

Even though the noodles are thick, they blend perfectly with the broth instead of feeling separate, and the noodles themselves were delicious. Really satisfying meal at this Gwanghwamun spot! Thanks for the great meal today 😆

Is Cheonghwa Uyuk Dosakmyeon worth it for lunch in Gwanghwamun?

Cheonghwawon in Sinchon is one of my favorite restaurants, and I was glad to find that Cheonghwa Uyuk Dosakmyeon in Gwanghwamun serves the same consistently delicious, high-quality Chinese food. And on top of that, the value is amazing 👍 As the weather gets chillier, I recommend a bowl of appetite-boosting beef noodles at Cheonghwa Uyuk Dosakmyeon in Gwanghwamun :)
