Solo lunch udon and pork cutlet set near Gangnam-gu Office Station

The lunchtime dilemma that hits every single day. "What should I eat today?" I eat lunch every day, so why is it always such a struggle to decide, haha.

Especially on days when I eat alone, taste matters, but so does finding a place that's easy to get to, doesn't feel awkward to sit in alone, and fills me up properly.

This time I had a solo lunch to eat near Gangnam-gu Office Station, so while looking around for what to eat, I went to Cheongdam Kkatsu Gangnam-gu Office Station Branch.

Lunch breaks are short, and if you spend 10-15 minutes walking to find a good restaurant, you're already exhausted before you even eat, haha. Especially when it's raining or during peak summer or winter, a spot close to the station is the best.

So for nearby office workers looking for a good lunch spot around Gangnam-gu Office Station, I felt this location was quite convenient in terms of accessibility.

I went in alone, and it was way more comfortable than expected!

I visited just after the lunch peak had passed. I went in alone, and there were already quite a few other people eating solo. "Ah, this place should be fine for eating alone." Instant relief, haha.

The whole restaurant had a wood-toned, clean and comfortable atmosphere, and I didn't feel self-conscious about eating alone at all. So this place should also work well for anyone looking for a solo-dining spot around Gangnam-gu Office.

Best of all, I could order and pay directly at the table, which was convenient. When you're eating alone, trying to time eye contact with staff to call them over is kind of a hassle, haha. Being able to sit, look through the menu slowly, and go from ordering to paying all at the table was especially convenient for solo dining.

There's also a private room, so if you book ahead, a lunch group gathering would work too!

Browsing the menu, I got hooked on the egg sauce pollack roe mixed udon!

I originally just went there for pork cutlet, but looking through the menu, there were more options than I expected.

The one that caught my eye was the egg sauce pollack roe mixed udon with pork cutlet set! Doesn't the name alone sound like a combo of all the good stuff, haha. For someone like me who felt like pork cutlet alone wouldn't be quite enough and also wanted udon, it was the perfect combination.

I liked that there were a lot of menu items that set the place apart from others!

Confirmed the self-serve bar situation too!

And the moment the food came out... "Looks like I'm going to eat a pretty solid lunch today." The portion was more generous than I expected.

The udon noodles were genuinely good!

At first I was naturally expecting the pork cutlet to be the star. But after the first bite, the udon was surprisingly what caught my attention first. The noodles were chewy yet soft, with a great bite.

What I especially liked was that the noodles didn't feel like they were getting soggy while I ate. Between taking photos and eating the pork cutlet, the udon usually gets pushed to the back burner, but the texture of the noodles held up really well until the very end.

Cracking the egg open and mixing it well with the pollack roe into the noodles made everything much richer and nuttier.

The saltiness of the pollack roe blended smoothly with the egg, balancing things out so it wasn't as intense as expected.

One bite of udon, one bite of pork cutlet, back to the udon... At first I thought of the udon as just a side that came with the pork cutlet set, but at some point I realized I was digging into the udon more eagerly, haha. If you personally like noodles, this is a dish worth trying at least once.

Of course, the pork cutlet can't be left out either. The pork cutlet that came with the set had noticeably thick meat, and it looked pretty filling from the first glance. The batter was crispy and the meat inside was on the tender side, making it great to alternate with the udon.

Personally, when a pork cutlet is too thin, I feel a bit unsatisfied even after a few bites, but here the meat had real thickness, giving me a clear sense of having had a proper meal. So if you're looking for a Gangnam-gu Office Station pork cutlet restaurant and portion size matters to you, this should be pretty satisfying.

A bite of udon → a bite of pork cutlet → back to udon... eating this way, I really got the full benefit of a set menu, haha.

They said rice refills are unlimited, but I failed, haha

And here's one point rice lovers will appreciate! You can get more rice self-serve. It seemed like it'd be nice to add a bit of rice while eating the pork cutlet, or eat it with the leftover sauce.

I also thought at first, "I'll have a bit of rice at the end." But... the udon portion was quite big, and by the time I finished the pork cutlet too, I was already way too full, haha. In the end I couldn't add rice. It's free, so why does it feel extra disappointing when you're too full to have it... Next time I'll go with a bit more room in my stomach, haha.

Having eaten alone here myself that day, Cheongdam Kkatsu turned out to be a pretty comfortable restaurant for solo dining. First, it's close to Gangnam-gu Office Station, so it's easy to get to, and there were other solo diners too, so it didn't feel awkward going in alone. Being able to order and pay right at the table was convenient as well.

Above all, it's not just pork cutlet on its own — you can order it as a set with udon, so it suited a day when I wanted a proper, full lunch. So this is worth keeping in mind not just for office workers' lunch but also for anyone looking for a solo dining spot near Gangnam-gu Office.

Went for pork cutlet, ended up remembering the udon: Cheongdam Kkatsu!

This was my first visit to Cheongdam Kkatsu Gangnam-gu Office Station Branch. I originally went craving pork cutlet, but once I got home, what I kept thinking about was, surprisingly, the egg sauce pollack roe mixed udon, haha.

The combination of chewy udon noodles mixed with pollack roe and egg was great, and eating it alongside the thick pork cutlet made for a pretty filling meal. I especially liked that even eating alone, I could enjoy it comfortably.
