📍618-17 Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul — Upper and Under is a large Gangnam café about a 5-minute walk from Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 6. Being close to the station made it easy to reach by public transit, and it's also a convenient stop if you're already in the Gangnam Station area.

Three floors at Upper and Under: 2nd and 3rd floors full even on a weekday

Upper and Under has a lot of space from the 1st to the 3rd floor, so there's a good variety of seating types. When I visited, the 2nd and 3rd floors were almost completely full, so I only took photos of the 1st floor. Overall it's a modern, clean interior.

Since it's such a popular café, even a weekday visit meant a lot of people, and I heard there's a wait during peak weekend hours. If you're with company, I'd recommend having one person go up first to grab a seat. If you spot a good spot, just claim it — go go!!

Upper and Under also has separate terrace seating. It was raining on the day I visited, so I skipped it🥲 Still, the floor-to-ceiling windows made for a very romantic rainy-day mood🫶

The wifi worked well too, so it was easy to work on a laptop, and the space itself felt spacious enough that even with a lot of people, it never got too crowded.

My order, the salty caramel🫶 Can you see how insanely dense the cream is?! It's amazing🥹🥹 It had a soft, creamy feel with a subtle sweetness and a salty edge — the balance was great.

If you like sweet drinks, I'd recommend this one👍👍 Underneath, there was a strong dalgona-like caramel flavor, sweet and nutty. Very sweet overall — perfect for a full sugar recharge!!

With its deep yellow color, I couldn't walk past the honey cheese Basque cheesecake💛 I've been obsessed with honey cheese lately, and the visual alone screamed rich honey cheese, so I picked it up right away!!
