Parking and the solo-seat vibe
There's a great-value lunch to be had at Shabu Torang Jang-an Direct Branch, and there's a parking space right next to the restaurant, so I could park comfortably and walk right in~!
Walking inside, the space was spacious with seats set up so each person could sit comfortably alone~ The interior was clean and the atmosphere so cozy~~ There were plenty of seats further in too, but they were packed with customers so I couldn't get many photos haha

Menu, prices, and ordering via order pad
Let's look at the menu at Shabu Torang Jang-an Direct Branch, a Jang-an-dong favorite~ Each table has an order pad so you can order easily! You pick your basic shabu-shabu broth (basic/spicy/tomato/mala/sukiyaki) — lots of flavors to choose from~ Basic shabu-shabu starts at ₩7,900, which is amazing value~!
There are also lots of add-on menu items, and the prices are so reasonable haha

They also have pasta and risotto in various flavors, so you can order shabu-shabu together with pasta or risotto dishes, which is even better~

You can add other toppings too — kalguksu noodles, dumplings, fish balls, rice cakes, glass noodles, egg, and more, all available to order~

There's also a variety of drinks and alcohol available~
Basic broth with beef, vegetables and porridge added
Since each solo seat gets its own shabu-shabu pot, it's so convenient for eating alone at Shabu Torang Jang-an Direct Branch~! We added vegetables, beef brisket, and even porridge to the basic shabu-shabu~~ My husband also added vegetables and meat to his basic broth, plus fish balls too~~

We ordered the basic broth~ A moderately sized pot filled with broth~ With the induction stove, you can adjust the heat and enjoy delicious shabu-shabu right away~!

The portion was really generous and it was set out so neatly, making it look even more appetizing~!

A square tofu pouch stamped with the Shabu Torang logo haha The variety of vegetables, rice cakes, fish balls and other add-ons all felt fresh, and the portions were so generous~

You can also choose the meat you like — beef chuck or beef brisket~! The color of the meat was so vivid~ And it was cut to just the right thin thickness for shabu-shabu, which I loved even more~!

And at the end, they even prepared a full set of porridge ingredients to make afterward~~

How the cooked broth tasted
Loading the pot generously with vegetables and meat~~ Let it bubble away and cook, and delicious shabu-shabu comes together in no time~

Scooping out the meat and vegetables, dipping them generously in chili sauce and taking a bite — the savory meat and fresh vegetables came together for a clean yet really delicious flavor~

Eating the rice cakes, fish balls and mushrooms in between was so delicious hahaha

Adding the extra vegetables in and making another round of shabu-shabu haha

Enjoying another round of the generous vegetables and meat~ Nice that you get to eat plenty of vegetables too, and finish off with the savory meat and refreshing broth~~

Finishing with beef-broth porridge
I was so full already, but I couldn't skip the porridge that finishes off a shabu-shabu meal, so I got started haha Ladle out a little of the broth and add in all the porridge ingredients to cook~~

Delicious porridge complete! Made with the beef broth, it was soft yet savory — such a delicious way to finish the meal~~!

Good for solo dining and family meals alike
Shabu Torang Jang-an Direct Branch is great for those days when you want a simple meal alone, and it's also good to come with friends or family~! Being able to comfortably enjoy solo shabu-shabu seems like the biggest advantage! The prices are also fairly easy on the wallet, so I'd recommend it as a great spot to visit when you're deciding on lunch or dinner in Jang-an-dong~!
