Mapo Indian restaurant curry duo with naan: Deli India
In short
Deli India is an Indian restaurant in Mapo, Seoul, serving curries and naan. We paired chicken palak and chicken masala with butter naan, garlic naan, and palak aloo, and nearly burst from how full we were, haha. Verdict: Deli India is a great dinner pick when you want proper Indian curry and naan.

I went to Deli India because I was craving Indian curry around Hapjeong. We ordered chicken palak, chicken masala, butter naan, garlic naan, and finally palak aloo—and I nearly burst from how full I was.. haha. The naan generously dipped in curry was such a perfect combination; if you are looking for curry around Sangsu or Hapjeong, Deli India was great for enjoying the Indian atmosphere along with it!!!

An Indian dining space for a Hapjeong dinner
While deciding on dinner in Hapjeong, I wanted proper Indian food for the first time in ages, so I headed to Deli India!

I found it while searching for curry around Sangsu and Hapjeong, and from the entrance right through the interior, it felt thoroughly Indian~

Decorations and tableware filled the whole space, so it even felt a little like traveling. The tables were not squeezed together, and there were quite a few seats further inside, so it looked good for a group meal too. They had the windows wide open, and it was so pleasantly cool!!
Deli India’s menu had us debating for ages

There were honestly far more menu choices than I expected, so we debated for quite a while?! I do wish we had ordered some lamb tooㅠㅠ At this level of quality and flavor, I felt like the lamb dishes would not have disappointed either.
Why we ordered chicken palak and chicken masala together

We chose chicken palak and chicken masala, then added butter naan, garlic naan, and palak aloo! I wanted to see if this was a place that really knew its naan, so I asked for a few different kinds—but I had no idea this much food would come out, haha...;;

Chicken palak is a chicken curry made with spinach and spices, so its green color really stood out and looked so delicious~~ At first glance, you might expect a very strong flavor, but it was gentler and creamier than I expected! Tearing off naan and piling it on worked so well.
Chicken masala, on the other hand, was richer and spicier. The two curries tasted distinctly different, so rather than ordering just one, it is nice to have two side by side and try both~~~ If you want to sample several things, I recommend ordering about two curries to share.
Butter naan and garlic naan are the basics
Personally, naan is really important when I eat Indian curry. Deli India’s butter naan was nutty and soft, pairing well without overpowering the curry. The garlic naan had added garlic fragrance, so it had a little more presence.
Tear the warm naan apart with your hands, load it up with chicken masala, and all that recent craving for Indian curry is finally satisfied. I ate until I was truly stuffed, so I think I can go without it for a while.
Trying palak aloo for the first time

We also ordered palak aloo this time, and even this one dish alone felt insanely filling.. The fluffy, hot potato naan was delicious!
To finish the meal, I had a warm milk tea. Maybe because I had eaten spiced food, it felt like it cleared my palate, making it a good ending. Overall, this is a place I think of when I want proper Indian curry and naan rather than Korean-style curry.

It was fun to look around at the Indian-style decor throughout the restaurant, and most of all, there were so many kinds of curry that I wanted to come back and choose something we did not eat this time. If you are looking for a different kind of dinner around Hapjeong or Sangsu, enjoy it at Deli India!
