Guwol-dong spicy octopus lunch spot with a big parking lot

This place is already well known by word of mouth as a lunch spot among Guwol-dong restaurants, so we timed our arrival for opening! And the moment it opened, cars were already pouring in and it was bustling. There's a big private parking lot that holds 60+ cars, so we parked comfortably with zero parking stress. It also looked perfect for buses or large group vehicles, as long as you call ahead first.

The restaurant is a huge standalone building — almost grand in scale!

160+ seats and a window seat on the second floor

The moment we walked in, the first floor was already packed with customers, so we were shown up to the second floor. It's an enormous place with over 160 seats, plus well-equipped separate group rooms that can hold 20, 50 and even 80 people, so I'd happily recommend it for family gatherings or company dinners.

Our window seat on the second floor in particular looked out onto lush green trees, and my mom, who came with me, absolutely loved it — she said it felt so healing!

What's in the jjuchipa set for 2

Besides the main flame-grilled jjukkumi (webfoot octopus) and nakji (long-arm octopus) dishes, the menu was wide-ranging, with things like bulgogi, back ribs and haemul wang-sogalbi-jjim (braised jumbo beef ribs with seafood). There's also pork cutlet, fried shrimp and tomato spaghetti that kids love, so it's a lineup that anyone of any age can enjoy.

Side dish self-serve bar and free soft drinks

The basic side dishes are neat and tidy: perilla-seed spinach, muk (acorn jelly), yeolmu kimchi (young radish kimchi) and bean sprouts. Those bean sprouts were especially crisp and refreshing — a real treat eaten alongside the spicy octopus!

If you run low on side dishes, you can help yourself to more at the self-serve bar, and there's piping hot, clean-tasting miyeok-guk (seaweed soup) ready as well.

And here's the best part! There's a soft drink machine on every floor, and you can use it for free with no extra charge at all! The value for money is seriously incredible..

How the smoky jjuchipa and gorgonzola pizza tasted

Before the main dish came out, a refreshing salad, a chilled muk-sabal with slushy ice floating on top, and nutty jumeok-bap (rice balls) were served first, and they really whetted our appetite.

And finally, today's main, the jjuchipa arrived! The octopus was plump and big, and the fiery smoky flavor had soaked right in. With the spicy sauce, the savory cheese and springy pasta noodles took the edge off the heat, and the pairing was simply fantastic.

Right after that, the warm gorgonzola pizza included in the set came out too! The cheese itself had a lovely flavor, and dipped in honey it was that sweet-and-salty taste you just can't stop eating.

Review event and free dessert café

On our way out after the meal, we joined the Naver receipt review event and got to grab a cool ice cream and some nutty ssal-gangjeong (crispy puffed rice snack) too!

Group reservations are possible too, so it seems perfect for coming as a family! And if you need Wi-Fi, take note!

And over by the exit there's an in-house café corner — just tell the staff which drink you'd like and they'll give you brewed coffee or a choice of teas for free!

From the meal right through to dessert time, everything is perfectly taken care of in one place, so it's no wonder the satisfaction level is high..
