In short
Gang Galbitang Seomyeon is a galbitang restaurant in Busanjin, Busan, near Seomyeon Station and Bujeon Market. I had its signature galbitang at a solo seat, with rich broth, tender beef ribs, and plenty of glass noodles. Verdict: a warming, filling stop before a stroll through the market.

A filling meal from Seomyeon Station to Bujeon Market

Gang Galbitang Seomyeon is just a short walk uphill from Seomyeon Station Exit 11, so it was easy to get to. Bujeon Market is also close by, which was great 👏🏻 After a filling galbitang meal, I could stop by the nearby market and have a look around, so I think it makes a nice Seomyeon outing course for enjoying both a delicious meal and market browsing‼️
From solo seats to tables for groups

There were lots of seating options, including tables for two, four, and six, as well as separate seats where you can dine comfortably by yourself! I liked that there were seats to suit different group sizes, and especially that the atmosphere felt easygoing for eating alone—perfect for a hearty meal on your own! I came alone, so I was really happy there was a solo seat for me〰️〰️
Galbitang or spicy galbitang: how to choose your heat level

Gang Galbitang's signature dish is, of course, galbitang (beef short-rib soup)! There is also spicy galbitang, so you can choose according to your taste 🤩 You can even select the heat level yourself.
- 🌶️ Level 1 - hearty-spicy
- 🌶️ Level 2 - spicy
- 🌶️ Level 3 - very spicy
With three levels like this, even people who love spicy food can choose what suits them 👏🏻 By the way, if you do not select a heat level separately, it is prepared at Level 1! The arongsatae suyuk (boiled beef shank slices) ordered at the next table looked so delicious from the visuals alone! Next time, I want to come back with a friend and definitely try the arongsatae suyuk too. On my next visit, I need to properly enjoy both galbitang and suyuk〰️〰️
Kiosk ordering and the self-service bar

I liked that ordering was easy through the kiosk!

You can freely use the side dishes at the self-service bar! The whole bar was neatly organized, so it seemed like they paid close attention to hygiene too 👏🏻 There was also a separate area for water and coffee, plus an ice maker! After their meals, lots of people picked up a cup of coffee from the self-service bar before leaving. I was even more satisfied because I could have coffee for dessert after a hearty meal ☕️

A bowl of signature galbitang

I ordered the signature galbitang 🤩 The moment I took a spoonful of the hot broth, I felt warmed through and nicely filled up. The broth had a properly rich flavor; they say it is made by slowly simmering fresh Korean beef bones every morning for a deep, rich stock!

The basic sides included kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), chorogi (Chinese artichoke pickles), peppers, soybean paste, and soy sauce for dipping the beef ribs. It was a perfect set to have alongside galbitang and made for a clean, enjoyable meal!! Scissors and tongs came with it too, and the spoon and chopsticks were presented neatly as well—such thoughtful touches ✌️

There were generous amounts of tender beef ribs, so having the broth and meat together was even more filling 😋 With the hot broth and soft ribs, finishing the bowl felt like I had properly treated myself to a nourishing meal 🥰
There really was a generous amount of beef ribs in the galbitang. When I took a bite, there was no unpleasant smell at all, and the meat was so tender it slipped right off the bone!! Mixing hot rice into the broth, I found that the rich galbitang broth and rice went so well together! 🍚 I dipped the tender beef ribs into the special soy sauce, and I loved that combination too. With plenty of ribs and such a rich broth, I emptied the bowl feeling satisfyingly nourished 👏🏻

A review-event gift and meal kits

They gave out hand cream through a Naver review event! 🎁 It was my first time writing a restaurant review and receiving hand cream as a gift, so that was interesting 😎 Since lots of international tourists visit too, I thought receiving Korean hand cream like this would feel nice, like a little travel souvenir. I happened to need hand cream as well, so I was so happy to receive it. 😊 Enjoying delicious galbitang and leaving with a cute gift made it a lovely visit!

📌 They also sell meal kits! Thinking about the prices of meal kits sold at Market Kurly or supermarkets these days, being able to buy a meal kit from somewhere I had tried and confirmed was delicious at this price felt quite reasonable. I thought the price point would be approachable, especially for people living alone or anyone wanting an easy meal at home! Even when I visited, so many people came in to buy meal kits that they seemed very popular 😚 I also liked that you can enjoy a delicious meal at the restaurant and then have it easily at home too!
There were lots of older guests and lots of people eating alone overall, so it felt like a comfortable place to visit for a solo meal or even a drink by yourself.
More than anything, it was great for warming up and having a nourishing, filling meal, and the hearty yet refreshing broth was truly memorable 👏🏻 I enjoyed it so much that I thought the restaurant could absolutely take pride in its food. It is somewhere I would definitely like to revisit next time with my parents!
