Family Chinese restaurant with kid menu at Starfield Anseong: Chibao
In short
Chibao Starfield Anseong Branch is a Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor of Starfield Anseong in Gyeonggi. Visiting with a 7-year-old and a 2-year-old, the kids ate jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles), shrimp fried rice, and mini tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) while the adults shared a smoky jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup). It turned out to be a lunch combo where nobody had to argue over kid food versus adult food.

We went to Starfield Anseong with the kids and spent forever debating what to have for lunch~~ There are SO many good restaurants at Starfield Anseong that picking a menu actually got harder, not easier! Since we had a 7-year-old and a 2-year-old with us, we needed something the kids would eat happily while the adults could still enjoy their meal too!
This time we went to Chibao, where you can get jjajangmyeon, fried rice, tangsuyuk, and jjamppong all in one visit^^ The kids mostly ate the jjajang and fried rice, while we adults dug into a properly smoky jjamppong!! Here's our review of Chibao, a Starfield Anseong restaurant that worked well for the whole family~~
Where is Chibao Starfield Anseong Branch?

Starfield Anseong is huge with tons of places to eat~~ Chibao is on the 2nd floor, which made it easy to walk over for lunch or dinner after shopping or playing with the kids. Especially with a 7-year-old and 2-year-old in tow, having to get back in the car just to grab a meal is a whole ordeal ㅠㅠ
Being able to handle both playtime and mealtime inside Starfield was really convenient for us visiting with kids!
Seating good for two kids

With so many restaurants packed into Starfield Anseong, I worried about finding a table at lunchtime~~ But the dining space itself was spacious, so getting a seat was easier than expected! When you're going with two little kids like us, grabbing a good table actually matters a lot!!

Between the kids' stuff and ordering several dishes, we've had plenty of chaotic meals at cramped tables before, but here we could eat comfortably. Rather than ordering one dish and rushing through it, we could spread out jjajangmyeon, fried rice, and tangsuyuk and eat with the kids without feeling cramped.
If you're looking for somewhere to eat with kids at Starfield Anseong, I'd say it's worth checking the seating and space, not just the food^^
Menu lineup and set combos
The menu lineup is really solid, isn't it?!? I loved all the options!!! Best of all, there were a variety of set combos to choose from depending on party size~~ Even if there are just two of you or you don't want to over-order, picking a set still gets you dishes like tangsuyuk included!
Jjajangmyeon and shrimp fried rice, kid-approved
Since we were visiting with a 7-year-old and 2-year-old, whether the kids would actually eat was the top priority. In the past, eating out with kids meant hunting for kid-friendly places first, adult preferences be damned. But at Chibao, the kids could stick to jjajangmyeon, fried rice, and tangsuyuk while the adults still got to have jjamppong, so the menu lineup won me over right away^^ And of course, kids and jjajangmyeon!!

Jjajangmyeon was the easiest go-to when eating Chinese food with a 7-year-old and 2-year-old. Both kids ate well, and the older one basically polished off a whole bowl by herself!?

We also ordered shrimp fried rice alongside it, so on days noodles alone felt like too little, they could have rice too, which made feeding the kids so much easier!

Below is the jjamppong broth that comes with the shrimp fried rice! Even the richness of it was a whole different level!

How was the mini tangsuyuk?
And we can't skip the tangsuyuk~~

Honestly.... if my stomach had had room, I'd have wanted a full-size order instead of the mini version, it was that soft and delicious ㅠㅠ Genuinely so good!!!!!

It's a dish the kids can eat too while adults love it, so it's perfect to order when visiting as a family. Jjajangmyeon plus tangsuyuk together — need I say more ㅋㅋㅋ
The kids ate it well too, so this combo seems like the safest bet for family outings.
The adult dish: smoky jjamppong
And for the adults, jjamppong!!!

Honestly, with so many restaurants competing at Starfield Anseong, I wondered if Chinese food could hold its own ㅋㅋㅋ Then I tasted it and... wow. The jjamppong had real smoky wok-hei flavor, and the broth was rich too, so delicious!! I'm usually the type to lose interest in jjamppong if the broth is thin, but here the broth was so rich I kept going back for more.
We came for the kids' menu but ended up with me being the one blown away by the jjamppong ㅋㅋㅋ I think the biggest perk of eating lunch here with kids at Starfield Anseong is not having to agonize separately over kid food and adult food.

The combo to go for with kids
The variety of set combos was also great, since even visiting as a pair or solo, you can pick a set that suits your taste and still get to enjoy dishes like tangsuyuk. If you're visiting with kids like we did, I highly recommend: jjajangmyeon, fried rice, and tangsuyuk for the kids, plus a jjamppong for the adults!!
If you're looking for a lunch or dinner spot to eat with kids at Starfield Anseong, give Chibao a try! It was the perfect combo for a whole-family meal out^^
