Gwangalli Indian restaurant lunch: coconut shrimp curry at Bollywood
In short
Bollywood Indian Restaurant is an Indian restaurant on the second floor of a building on Gwangnam-ro 130beon-gil in Suyeong-gu, Busan, near Gwangalli Beach. For lunch, Bollywood's tandoori chicken and coconut shrimp curry came with naan, and the coconut-and-cream curry was the most memorable — not spicy at all, just mild and smooth. A good pick when the usual lunch options feel boring.

There's this one place I keep thinking about lately. I only just went, and I'm already dying to go back! If you're craving something a little different for lunch in Gwangan, how about Indian food? It left such a big impression on me personally that I have to share it 😎👍🏻
Where is Bollywood? Look for the sign downstairs, then go up to the 2nd floor
Bollywood is an Indian restaurant on the 2nd floor of a building in a Gwangan alley. At the entrance on the 1st floor, look for the BOLLYWOOD Indian Restaurant & Bar sign, then head upstairs.

The vibe hits you right from the entrance haha. Bold, vivid murals and Bollywood-style interior grab your attention right away! It already felt like I was traveling in India before I even opened the door. The atmosphere was so exotic I completely forgot I was still in a Gwangan alley 😎😎
What is the inside of Bollywood like?
Inside, Bollywood is decked out with colorful paintings, lighting, and wall decorations — a totally different feel from the restaurants we usually see. The vibe hit me the moment I opened the door. And with Indian music playing in the background, the atmosphere was even more intense haha.

The colorful fabrics and unique lighting go so well together that there are plenty of spots to take photos, and honestly it felt like stumbling into a local restaurant while traveling abroad.

Also, since there's a foreign owner, the exotic vibe felt even more natural. What really surprised me was how well he speaks Korean haha. He speaks Korean better than I do 🙏🏻🤣🤣 Which just made him even cooler!! If you want something a bit special for lunch instead of the usual Gwangan restaurant fare, this is the spot!!!
Bollywood's menu: curry and naan choices
Bollywood's menu ranges from chicken curry to lamb curry, shrimp curry, cheese curry, and vegetable curry, plus Indian dishes like biryani and samosa. There are many types of naan too — plain naan, butter naan, garlic naan, honey naan, butter garlic naan — so it was easy to pick one that matched the curry and my taste.

The menu had way more variety than I expected. Even if you're looking for Indian food near Haeundae, it might be worth the trip over, given how full the menu was 👍🏻 We ordered tandoori chicken and coconut shrimp curry!
Tandoori chicken: crisp outside, juicy inside
Bollywood's tandoori chicken looked amazing the moment it arrived! Wow, it was so savory and crispy — totally my type haha.

The outside was grilled to a golden brown and the inside was juicy, much softer than I expected. There were vegetables underneath the chicken, and eating them together worked really well.

It's delicious on its own, but dipping it in the green sauce that came with it was another treat! After always eating regular fried chicken, having tandoori chicken made me want nothing but tandoori chicken haha.

As you can see, it looks really good too, right?
Coconut shrimp curry: mild, creamy, not spicy
Bollywood's coconut shrimp curry has coconut and cream in it, making it savory and really smooth. Honestly, I fell hard for this one — it's the best curry I've ever had. Coconut shrimp curry is exactly my type!

It's not spicy or overpowering, so it's easy to enjoy without any hesitation. Tearing off a piece of warm naan and scooping up a generous amount of curry with it... ah, this is the taste I keep thinking about, haha.

The naan was chewy with slightly crispy edges, pairing really well with the curry. If you're eating with two people, I highly recommend this combo! One order of tandoori chicken plus naan dipped in coconut shrimp curry — the best combination.

Why Bollywood is worth it for lunch near Gwangalli Beach
I loved the exotic atmosphere right in the middle of Gwangan, but what made Bollywood most memorable was how genuinely delicious the food was. This is the place to come back to when regular lunch spots get boring and you're craving rich Indian curry with warm naan!
This visit stuck with me for so long that I think I'll be back again soon. :) If you're looking for a restaurant for lunch in Gwangan or a curry spot in Gwangan, I highly recommend this one for something different!
