Gwangalli pizza restaurant house salad pairing in Busan: Extra Mile
In short
Extra Mile is a casual American-style pizza and Western restaurant in Gwangalli, Suyeong-gu, Busan. On this return visit, Extra Mile's hot honey pepperoni pizza (26,000 won) with an added cheese crust (4,000 won) came with a house salad (12,000 won) and a cola (2,500 won), and the 48-hour cold-fermented dough and the cheese crust were the most memorable parts. When pizza alone feels too rich, the house salad pairing at Extra Mile makes it worth going back.

I was craving pizza in Gwangalli and went looking for a good spot, and this time I ended up at Extra Mile. I'm already a pizza lover so I'm always on the hunt for good pizza places in Gwangalli, and this is a place that makes even its dough from scratch with real care — which is why I went back !! If you want to properly enjoy both Gwangalli pizza and Gwangalli pasta, I'd recommend this place, so today let me introduce Extra Mile (*,,•ᴗ•,,)ꔛꕤ
Where is Extra Mile, and what are its hours and parking?

What is the atmosphere like inside Extra Mile?

I liked the space at Extra Mile almost as much as the food. It's not the kind of restaurant where you feel you need to dress up — you can just walk in and eat comfortably, which I appreciated. It has that casual American dining feel while still clearly taking the food seriously, so it seems like a great fit for a meal with friends or a date with a partner.
These days, how good something looks in photos and the overall vibe of the space matters almost as much as the taste itself, haha. On that front too, I thought this was a solid choice for a date in Gwangalli or a good-vibes meal with friends (´∀`)
What we ordered at Extra Mile and what it cost

Eating just pizza is great, but I liked that Extra Mile also has salads and pastas you can order alongside it to share with a group !! Here's what I ordered ૮₍˶•🐽•˶₎ა
- Hot Honey Pepperoni: ₩26,000
- Crust add-on: ₩4,000
- House salad: ₩12,000
- Cola: ₩2,500
Coloring table mats while you wait

One unique thing was that while waiting for the food, there's a table mat set out where you can freely color with crayons !! Since it's handmade pizza the food seemed to take a bit of time, but coloring meant there was never a dull moment while waiting ٩(*˙︶˙*)۶
It's a nice little touch not just for families visiting with kids, but for couples too — it seems like it would make the meal feel even more fun !!
House salad, 12,000 won: a good match for the pizza

Since eating just pizza can get a little heavy, we also ordered the house salad. It's built on crisp butterhead lettuce, with nutty ranch dressing, crispy bacon, and nuts on top. The vegetables were crunchy, which made it great to nibble on between bites of pizza. In particular, the savory, smooth flavor of the ranch dressing paired well with the vegetables, and the crispy bacon added a nice chew.

With the nuts thrown in too, the texture was a lot more varied than a plain vegetable salad. A bite of pizza followed by a bite of salad made my mouth feel refreshed, so I was glad we ordered it together. Personally I like ordering a salad alongside pizza or pasta, and this combination was quite satisfying that day !!
How does the hot honey pepperoni pizza (26,000 won) taste?

If you love pizza, you can't resist pepperoni pizza, right? Haha. It's topped with pepperoni over a nicely browned crust, and as the name suggests, you get that combination of heat and sweet honey. The salty, rich flavor of the pepperoni hits first, followed by sweetness, and that sweet-salty combo kept me reaching for more. There was also a slight kick of spice on top, which gave it more depth than a pizza that's just sweet !!
Apparently Extra Mile makes its dough with premium Italian Caputo flour and the traditional Biga pre-ferment method. It's cold-fermented for 48 hours, and maybe because of that, the dough had a nutty flavor that built up the more I chewed, instead of just tasting like plain flour dough. The outside was baked crispy while the inside stayed chewy, so even after finishing the pepperoni and cheese, the texture of the dough itself was still there. I sometimes only enjoy the toppings and leave the crust when eating pizza, but this time I ended up eating the dough with real enjoyment too !!

Why the 4,000 won cheese crust is worth adding
And the thing I really enjoyed that day was the cheese crust! I already like cheese crust so I added it, and I'm really glad I did. The moment I took a bite, it reminded me a little of the cheese crust from Lee Jaemo Pizza back before they changed their cheese, which I used to love. Of course taste is subjective, but for me, that particular savory, salty, smoothly melting cheese flavor came rushing back, and it made me so happy. Having cheese all the way to the edge of each slice meant I could enjoy it deliciously right down to the last bite !!
Final verdict on Extra Mile in Gwangalli

If you're looking for good pizza and Western food in Gwangalli, I'd recommend Extra Mile (,,ºᗜº,,*)*ᕷ˖°. The chewy, nutty dough and the cheese crust especially stuck with me. The Hot Honey Pepperoni in particular is delicious, so make sure to add the crust to your pepperoni!!!!! If you're craving good pizza and searching for a Gwangalli pizza spot, looking for a hearty Gwangalli lunch spot, or want a good-atmosphere Gwangalli Western restaurant, this place is worth a visit!
